Hi friends ! So my family is staying 4 night at the Riviera DVC and 4 night at the boardwalk DVC. How do we transfer to the boardwalk ? Are we on our own to get a minivan cab. I also here they are not transferring your refrigerated items ?

Bell services will transfer your bags. Call bell services to have them get your bags from your room or bring them to bell services yourself. Refrigerated items are no longer being transferred. Go about your day and when you check in at the Boardwalk, call bell services for your luggage. Luggage is transferred later in day (not sure exact time) so you may have your room before your luggage arrives

I never trust anybody with my luggage (even Disney), so I took an Uber from Wilderness Lodge to Old Key West on my split-stay trip. I believe the trip was around $10. Was well-worth the peace of mind.

yes that's what will do , but were a family of 5 can we get a mini van to take us over to the boardwalk

How many refrigerated items will you have? If you don't have a lot, I would simply give bell services your luggage and then take the Skyliner over to the Boardwalk with your refrigerated items. The Skyliner from RIV to the EP entrance is about 8 minutes and then Boardwalk is about a 5 minute walk from there. Or, if you would rather take a cab, a few people can get into a cab with the refrigerated items while the rest of your party takes the Skyliner so you don't have to try to find a minivan cab.

OP, you didn't describe your group. Or what activities you have planned for that day.

A family of 5 could be 2 adults and 3 very young kids, with the kids being difficult for one parent to handle on their own. Or it could be 5 adults.

For example, if you have 5 adults: 4 could go from Riviera to a theme park by Disney transportation. One could get in a cab with perishable food items (or all of the luggage) and go to Boardwalk. After leaving everything with Bell Services at Boardwalk, this person could then take Disney transportation to meet the others at the theme park.

If your plan was to have everyone just hang out at Boardwalk that day: if you have 5 adults, 4 could take the skyliner from Riviera to the Epcot International Gateway entrance, and then walk to Boardwalk from there. One could get in a cab with perishable food items (or all of the luggage) and go to Boardwalk.

I don't think you would need a cab big enough for your entire group unless your people can't/won't split up.

Have one person take the stuff and the rest use Disney transportation. Meet up after.

When you move your own stuff, you can access it at (the new resort's) bell services if you need something. If Disney does the transfer you have to wait until it arrives at your new resort.

I use Lyft but I assume Uber is the same. Lyft has an XL category for 5 people that's a little bit more. Going to the airport where I live, we fit 5 people (youngest being age 17) each with a suitcase & backpack.
