Resort Reuseable Mugs Question?

We have our reuseable mugs from last year and we are going on just a short trip next week. We didnt wanna buy new mugs since we get them for free with our dining plan in September this year. Can we take our mugs from last year and use them just next week at the Pop Century Resort? I know many people say that you are just suppose to use them for that trip but I dont see the point in buying new ones if we just get in them in a couple of months. Is there any way that the cast members will know that they are from a previous visit if they are the exact same?
