We are staying at the Port Orleans FQ the beginning of February, we are two couples and would like to have some of our meals at resort restaurants. Will it be too difficult for us to travel between hotels from the POFQ?

If we want to eat at a Magic Kingdom Resort do we take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then take the monorail to the resort?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you wish to eat at a Monorail Resort, take the bus to the TTC and hop the Resort Loop Monorail. If you wanted to eat at WL, you can get a bus from the TTC.

The best way to get to another resort using Disney transportation is to take the bus from your resort to the park closest to where you want to eat and then take a resort bus or monorail or boat from that park. give yourself at least 45 minutes to travel.
If you are going to the GF,Poly or WL you can take a ferry from the MK, you can walk to the CR, or to go to the CR, GF or Poly you can take the monorail.
What we did sometimes was to take the first park bus that can to the bus stop, went to that park, got off our bus, and then just walked over to the bus stop for the resort we wanted to go to. Most times that worked out pretty well.

Remember that transport to and from parks will stop about an hour after the park closes. If you are eating late, you might have to change buses at Downtown Disney, ot take a taxi back to your resort.

Also, if eating at one of the Epcot Resorts, Swan/Dolphin/Beach/Yacht/Boardwalk, DON'T take the Epcot bus unless you want a long walk all the way through Epcot and out the International Gateway. Easier would be to go to MGM and take the boat or walk.

Another good idea if you want to eat at the Disney resorts is to schedule your meal around a park visit. From the MK you can easily get to the GF, Poly, CR or WL and FW.
If you are in World Showcase you can exit at the International Gateway and walk to the Beach/Yacth clubs. This same area also has a number of good restaurants on the Boardwalk (across from the Beach/Yacth clubs).
Following this strategy, if you eat in the Boardwalk area (for example) you can then either walk or take the Friendship boat to the Studios.
Saves a lot of running in circles if you plan in advance.
Enjoy!

WL and FW are the only WDW resorts served by bus from the TTC.

This is the best advice.

Just for clarification, from the MK you would not want to catch the ferry to dine at the GF, Polynesian or WL but rather the smaller boats.

The ferry will take you to the TTC but will then have to walk to the Polynesian, take the bus to the WL or the monorail to the Polynesian or GF.
