To some extent, but I'm thinking like airline tickets. It already happened!
I would vote that It would actually be more like Marriott's dynmaic pricing which can change daily as occupancy may change daily for any date range you might chose. To some extent, but I'm thinking like airline tickets.
I'm surprised that Disney is still not at that level yet. Probably soon though. To some extent, but I'm thinking like airline tickets.
Right.I'm surprised that Disney is still not at that level yet. Probably soon though.
Might be then.I would vote that It would actually be more like Marriott's dynmaic pricing which can change daily as occupancy may change daily for any date range you might chose.

With the volume Disney has, it would add way to much to their plates. Can you imagine the number of cancellations and rebookings they would have? Not to mention guests angry that they paid x while their friend paid y.
I thought of that too. They might possibly make the room only cancellation deadline much further out than the eight days it is now? With the volume Disney has, it would add way to much to their plates. No - they have it set that way specifically to prevent people from getting their LLMP selections and then cancelling.I mean,

That's right about LLMP. Forgot about that.No - they have it set that way specifically to prevent people from getting their LLMP selections and then cancelling.
As far as "dynamic pricing" they pretty much already do. They have rack rates for various times where the busiest are the highest. And when they do offer discounts, it's limited room categories and limited numbers of rooms.
They actually extend the 5 cancel window for Room Only reservations to 8 days of January 9th.I thought of that too. They might possibly make the room only cancellation deadline much further out than the eight days it is now?![]()
Except no one has reported that their LLMP were cancelled. Yes the terms do mention:No - they have it set that way specifically to prevent people from getting their LLMP selections and then cancelling.
Except no one has reported that their LLMP were cancelled. Yes the terms do mention:
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is nonrefundable. If you cancel or modify your Resort hotel reservation after you’ve already purchased a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, then your selected attractions and arrival windows are subject to cancellation based on eligibility rules.
So guests have been pre-warned but it has not been enforced yet.
Except no one has reported that their LLMP were cancelled.
That's exactly what I am saying. @traveler9 posted about it here on DIS based on their personal experience. A warning is posted but no reported action. Just that Disney has the right to enforce it at any time. It worked the same way with Fastpass+ the same type warning lingered out there until Disney began to enforce it.How is this even happening? Are you saying people have been cancelling room-only within 8 days and not been penalized?
What I did more recently was cancel the second half of a split stay and stay offsite for the second half of my trip - so I had the benefit of being more than 8 days out for that one. That's exactly what I am saying. @traveler9 posted about it here on DIS based on their personal experience. First they posted the notice when LLMP launched July 24th while the 5 day cancel window was in place when Room Only reservations was in place. Then they announced that the 8 day window would take effect on January 9th which covers the 7 day advanced booking window for LLMP.

Disney has set a track record where they don't follow through. When TRON had AP previews, Disney said that preview reservations booked on days when your AP was blocked out would be automatically cancelled. Did they follow through? No - instead they gave out comp tickets to said AP holders so they could get in the park on their blockout day for the preview. They actually extend the 5 cancel window for Room Only reservations to 8 days of January 9th.
