I have breakfast reservations at Kona cafe and will be driving to the Polynesian. How long can I stay parked at the Poly and do I need a parking pass? I would like to hope on the monorail and shop and explore at the other resorts on the monorail.

They will often give you a 3-hour parking pass. Even if they don't, staying parked at a resort for longer than you need to be is considered very bad form around here.

Why not just park at the TTC? It's literally right next door and you can stay for as long as you'd like.

It's certainly not my intention to commit a parking faux pas. I've stayed at Disney resorts 30+ times and have always relied on Disney transportation, this is the first time I've stayed off property and rented a car.

Parking at a resort is for those who are either...
1. staying at that resort, which means they get to park there 24/7, or....
2. those enjoying the amenities of the resort...eating, shopping, checking it out.

It is not intended for those who are leaving the resort, other than on a resort sponsored event..boat tour, etc. Many people try to eat at a resort, especially on the monorail line, park their car there, and then head to a park for the day, avoiding the parking fee.

Will anything happen to your car if you park there and then leave the resort? Probably not. Is that what Disney intends for you to do? No.

So for breakfast at Ohana followed by MK, best is to park at TTC and walk over to Poly?
