Resort Parking fees went up

I was checking hotel kingdom and it said that parking fees for the resort hotels have gone up. It said general parking was 7 dollars a day and 14 for valet parking. I guess they are trying to squeeze money from every possible pocket.

Yes, I saw the same thing! I have never heard of a hotel charging its guests for parking! How does it work? Is there a guard booth type thing where you pay before you get in the lot? If you leave and come back in the same day I assume you dont have to pay again? Sorry for all the questions...we have never been before and are planning to go in May. Thanks, Donna

There is a guard house but they don't even stop you most of the time at RPR. You get charged on your bill sometimes and sometimes you don't. PBH has a ticket machine and the HRH guard house gives you a thing to hang from your rear view mirror.

We just got back. We were never charged for parking. We never got a ticket from the guardhouse.

We were charged $14 per day for valet parking in October, I think it was $12 per day for valet the last time we went.

I've seen on the Universal web site for Annual passholder (and in the newsletter) where Annual Pass holders can now get free self parking at the resorts.

We stayed at RPR on 11/23 and were charged $6 to self park. Yesterday I received a confirmation e-mail from HRH for my stay later this month and it indicated that self parking was $6. I did not get an AP newsletter recently--free resort parking will make DH smile, though! In fact, he will probably try to get the $6 back from RPR! LOL

Free parking with AP? Is this really true? Even though I am an AP holder, I have never received a newsletter nor can I log into the website....

Do I just mention that I have an AP at check-in and they should automatically take the fee off?
