If I have a reservation booked, have paid for parking at my resort and my mother in law comes and visits us for the day, which would result in staying two nights, how would that work with parking for her? Thank you!

If she visits just for the day, no parking fee. If she stays overnight, you will charged for each night she parks her car.

So they will just bill it to the room? I'm assuming that she will have to check in at the gate and they will know if she stays overnight?

If your mother-in-law is staying overnight, she isn’t a “visitor.” She’s a resort guest and needs to be listed on your reservation (and you’ll need to pay any applicable fees for her if you’ll have more than 2 adults staying in the room while she’s there). While a guest of the resort, she will be subject to the parking fees.

Ok I have another question about this. If there is going to be 2 adults and 1 child in my party, will the resort let me add two more guests to my room for the two nights?

Depends. Which resort and room type?

POR and Standard

He will be 5
You can only have 5 people in a hotel room that is designated for 5. Some rooms at POR do accommodate 5 people but not all of them. Chances are good that you will not be assigned to one if there are only 3 guests on the original reservation. The only way to guarantee one would be to add them to the reservation from the very beginning for each night that you are there. However, that would incur a nightly extra adult fee for each of them.

Then yes, you'll be able to add 2 adults to your reservation. You will have to pay the nightly extra adult fee for each of the extra 2 adults.
Even if we don't have the room with the pull down murphy bed? And I know about the nightly of like $28 per person

Well we wouldn't need the extra bed for my son, he could just sleep with us. It's just if the resort will allow it

That's not good
The Mouse's house...the Mouse's rules. If your child was under 3, then it would be permitted as per their policy. But since he is 5, it's a no go.

ETA - beginning in 2019, it looks like POR rooms that accommodate 5 people will be a bookable category (with the appropriate up-charge, because after all, they can).

I wonder if they would be more inclined to assign me one of the rooms that have a capacity of 5 if I let them know I will have two coming for at least two nights?

I saw that you can book specifically for that type of room now but I am booked just for a standard room. Guess I could always just ask nicely! But I do understand and won't try to bend their rules.

If your trip falls in 2019, they would expect you to pay the price increase for that type of room and only if there is availability. If it falls during this year, they will probably try to accommodate your request if they can.
