Resort Parking fees for visitors!

I wonder if a party of 4 would put down an extra ghost guest under the age of 18 to be able to get the rooms in AB?

Not a good idea if you have a package but am sure it happens.

Mark, is YOUR package just room? You can’t have people on different packages in the same room. If one person has 5 day tickets and dining plan, everyone has to have them. That’s where I’m most curious, I don’t think they will refund the cost of tickets and meal plan for the unused days.
It's room only. The tickets are separate.

I know the people on this forum have a lot of knowledge, otherwise I wouldn't have asked questions here. Unfortunately, no one here holds my reservation so I have to wait to see what my TA can come up with. I haven't said anyone was wrong here. I trust my TA will give me the best information she possibly can and I will make the best decision I can. I have seen many positive reviews on this TA I am using so I have to give her the benefit of the doubt for now. We will weigh out the risks but even the risk of not getting refunded is cheaper than booking a separate room for them.

Another option is for them to book one of the Disney Springs hotels and just meet up with us.

Not sure where anyone is getting that I'm being argumentative or anything like that. If anything has come across that way it was not intentional. I'm just debating a topic and giving my thoughts.

I will report back for sure when I hear back from my TA.

Ok! Then YES! You can do what your TA says! The confusion came with whether you had a package booked for your own family. In that case Disney would not be likely to refund those unused days. It’s also confusing because of the new category Disney has created. Hope it all works out!!

My TA got back with me and said that she is positive about being able to add 2 more adults to my room only reservation which is standard. However, she is not 100% sure about the room category issue and she is working on finding out. Also, I think someone else also said this but, you can go to the Disney World website and book a standard view room for 5 people right now so if I completed that transaction wouldn't they have to uphold that price? If you are unable to sleep 5 in a standard room and have to book the upgraded category of the 5th sleeper, why would the website let you book it? I would think if Disney allows that and you complete that reservation they would have to accommodate. Am I totally wrong in assuming that? I know Disney is a huge company but wouldn't that be not so "magical" business practice?

Right, so.....

Since you are booked in 2019 you’d be subject to the 2019 booking guidelines and prices.

If you’re saying that right now, for your 2019 dates you can book 5 people in a standard room, then I’d hurry up and go for it. Yes, they’d put you in a 5 person room because of the people on your reservation.

If that’s the case, it just means Disney hasn’t modified how their booking system books those rooms yet. What’s getting lost between everyone is that for your dates they’re SUPPOSED to be a separate category and price for booking. I haven’t personally looked to see how that’s working online or even over the phone. But what SHOULD happen is when you go to add people and make the total 5 it automatically bumps you into a new booking category with a new price. What currently happens is exactly what your TA is saying - you just book a room with 5 and they make sure you get the 5 person room.

Because it’s a transition period it gets a little confusing. But yes, if you have 5 people on your standard reservation I’d feel confident you’d get a 5 person room.

Looking at Mousesavers, which breaks down all room rates, there are two different 'standard" categories. One is Standard View, and one is Standard View 5th sleeper. So your TA definitely needs to clarify which room type she has booked. If she has booked you into a room, it probably is the 5th sleeper room. She shouldn't be able to book you into a room type that won't work.

I would keep an eye on this until you can clearly see which type of room you are in. You don't want to show up and end up with only the Standard View booked, and not have the option of having a 5th person.

So my TA added the 2 adults to my reservation, so now I have confirmation of 4 adults and 1 child, 5 year old, booked in just a standard view room. So I guess I'm taking the risk but I feel like Disney will accommodate. Too bad I have to wait 243 more days to find out. Thank to all of you guys for your great input. I appreciate it.

With 5 guests on the reservation, you will be put in the Alligator Bayou section and every room in that section has a Murphy Bed. You're good.
