Would anyone know if the resort mugs change every year? I read somewhere that you can use your mug from year to year. Just wondering if I should purchase one this visit since we'll be back in 5 mo.'s. Thanks:santa:

Whether they change or not they are supposed to be only good for the length of your stay when you purchased them. :thumbsup2 Be careful this can become a HOT topic!

Okay, thanks. I didn't realize this. I have never purchased mugs since it was only my DH and myself and we really do not use the caffeteria's at the resorts. We usually do all sit downs. I promise I did not mean to cause a stir. So I guess I have my answer, I will wait until next April when we bring our family along to purchase our mugs. Thanks Diz ! :thumbsup2

I thought the mugs were good for your length of stay. However, when we were at the Poly last week, there was a family that had around 6 mugs that were all different including a current one. I even recognized a couple of the larger ones from before and a design from the last time we went to the Poly!:confused We saw them several times and the staff didn't say anything.

We stayed 5 nights and got more than our money worth's with drinks in the am, during our afternoon break and when we came back from the park.

They are only good for the length of your stay. However, as with everything, people break the rules.:)

With the new YOAMD mugs being sold at 99% of the WDW Resorts you don't know weather they were purchased during those guests current vacations, or from previous WDW vacations earlier in the year. I know that it's up to the guests to be honest because of what's said on them, but the vibe I got from the Cast Members is they don't care.

The only Resort counter service locations I was recently at was the Food & Fun Center at the Contemporary and Gasparilla's Grill & Games at the Grand Floridian and here is what I happen to notice. At the Contemporary guests were both using the Contemporary mugs and YOAMD mugs. At the Grand Floridian I would say that everyone expect for this one kid who was using a Grand Floridian mug, everyone else was using the YOAMD mugs.

In the past guests have brought their old mugs back. When they first cae some guests were told they were goodfor life. Even after Disney posted the lenght of stay and engraved lenght of stay on the handles some guests would still ignor the policy and refill old mugs.

This last March Disney started introducing a new generic YOAMD mug that has the year 2007 posted on it. Since March when each resort ran out of the Resort (with the name of the specific resort on them) mugs they were given the YOAMD to sell. The YOAMD is good at any of the resorts refill stations so that is good news for guests who have split stays.:woohoo:
