Resort Lunch Suggestions?

Hi all, arriving at CSR 8.20 for our Disneymoon! :cool1: On our first full day, we are planning on sleeping in, then checking out some of the other resorts (especially POFQ, as that is where I wanted to stay!) We want to eat lunch at one of the resorts (we are on DDP and looking for a TS meal) and it looks like Boatright's only serves dinner.
Big River Grille looks great to me, but I'm nervous about not having an ADR for lunch. Does anyone have any experience with not being able to get a table there?

Any suggestions on a restaurant?

On a side note, we will have a dinner reservation at Raglan Road in DS at 5 pm... is this doable? (I know it takes a long time to travel between resorts. If needed, I can move my dinner reservation til later. Thanks!!

My first choice would be Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani Village building). I would also recommend Kona Cafe at the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian Cafe at, obviously, the Grand Floridian.

We were able to sit at the bar at Big River Grille even when there was a wait for tables. But I would probably go to Kona or Sanaa to eat something I couldn't necessarily get at home.

Staying at CSR I would suggest Maya Grill. We had a great meal there last November.

Outside of CSR I'd suggest a light lunch maybe at Jock Lindsay's Hanger Bar.

Not sure if this helps but when I went to make an ADR at Big River Grill it wouldn't let me. When I called to find out why, the Disney operator said it doesn't take ADR, you show up and wait for a table. She said that if you go before 5:30 or 6 pm and after 8 or 8:30 (the busiest times) the wait times aren't as long.

I would consider moving your dinner to a later time to allow more time between meals.

We've been to Big River once for lunch last April and didn't have a wait. Dinner seems to be busier. IMHO the food isn't that great. For better food in that area, you may want to consider Capt. Grille at YC.

We also like the Wave and GF Cafe.

Call The Big River Grille directly for a lunch ADR. Here is the info for the Boardwalk location. You may only be able to make them at 30 days out.

I would definitely move my dinner ADR to later. Raglan Road is excellent and you want to be hungry. Plus I believe the entertainment starts a bit later in the evening . Here is their info.

Congratulations and Have Fun

If I were going for the best TS at a resort, I would hit Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge and I would pay for the bread service out of pocket if on the dining plan. It is hands down one of the best restaurants on property. Also if you're going to be resort hopping, you can take the boat from Port Orleans to Disney Springs and hit up Raglan Road or even quick service at Wolf Gang Puck Express. WGPE is better than the table service options Wolfgang offers and is a huge score value wise on quick service credits.

Thank you so much everyone!! I can't believe how helpful everyone is! :worship: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I agree with Sanaa! Great food that isn't usually available near home, a Savannah to look out at, and a beautiful resort to walk around. We love AKL, so I'm biased, but I think it would make a great afternoon. Congrats on the upcoming wedding!

Trail's End at Fort Wilderness is good and usually pretty quiet. Easy to drive to or to get to from MK
