I don't know if anyone has asked this before, but here goes. We are going to WDW in less than two weeks. We are staying at AKL and SSR, our home resort. I would like to break-up the stay by trying another resort. Right now we are 2 nights at AKL and 5 at SSR. I would like to do 2 at AKL, 3 at SSR and 2 at another DVC resort. My DD15 says it would be too much and just make it the 2/5. Any suggestions?

Moving is a hassle. I would just stick with your original plan, or even cut back to just staying at SSR.

oh I love to try new resorts - but 2 per visit is generally my limit.....

remember you get until 2041 to see all the DVC resorts (the contract expiry January, 2042).

You got time and then some to see and do just about everything that WDW has to offer....

Another vote for not moving. DH and I tried it once and it wasn't for us. Having said that - it is your vacation. Make it what you want!

Enjoy

I really enjoy resort hopping as it gives a chance to experience different resorts. This December I am doing possibly 3 resorts in 7 nights.

For me resort hopping is real easy. I never totally unpack when staying at a hotel. So when I move, it takes 10 - 15 minutes at the most to arrange my stuff. I leave it with the bell desk and then go about my day (bell desk transfers your luggage for you). Late afternoon I show up at my new hotel. It could not be any easier.

OTOH, we like to unpack, settle in and feel like we're "home". Besides, doesn't moving use up a morning?

Have a look at my signature !!! My October Vacation covers 6 hotels!!!

I am going for three weeks however....I am pretty good at packing up and moving on and spend little time on shopping etc ...so I do not have loads of stuff to cart about ...I also have a rental car so that is not so bad!

Ask me again after October....I may have a different view....lol.... although the activities are broadly based around the hotel I am at at the time so there is method in the madness !

Denise

I'm all for resort hopping...but I agree with your dd. Why not enjoy your first trip to your new home for a full 5 days?

Save that resort hopping for another time...and actually rest a little while on vacation.

BTW, I've done 4 hotels in 6 nights....its just too much!
