Great idea! We are about ready to cross off our first one! Woot!!!

perhaps "sour puss" was too harsh. :upsidedow I certainly don't think it's a job I could do either. just think.... one more day until the weekend.

I hate it that you all can't go...
Spending time with Trent will be a bonus though!

Yep, we'll be fine just getting any Disney and Trent time we can. :)

I'm so looking forward to the gravediggers and seeing all 7 dwarfs!

The next time we do go to MNSSHP, Snow White and crew may be our first 'line up', since we have gotten pictures with Mickey and Minnie before.

The Mix and Meedle will be a first for us!

Maybe you can send Brooklynn a picture of Mix and Meedle on Facebook. :goodvibes

I had one stinker in my class and today was his last day. I'm still pinching myself to see if it's a dream.;)

We had a BIG 'stinker' last year. He was in the homeroom of my co-teacher, and the only way she lived through the time he was there is because he went out for Reading, came to me for SS and Science, and then we split the Math block so she could have another break. He had HUGE anger issues, and the worst part was that he bullied other children. When he left, everyone walked around quietly for days in fear that it was only temporary. It's funny to talk about, yet so very sad that some of these kids have such struggles and anger and issues at this young of an age.

Even now, you only have to say that child's first name and teachers all through the school who never even had him know about him. :sad2:

I've been doing that for years!
Holiday Break #1 is on the immediate horizon.
Then we threw in that fun Atlanta DIS meet next weekend for good measure, so we should make it through September okay.
Our system has decided in the past two years to give us an October fall break, too, so that has become a much easier month to get through, too! :cool1:

Okay THIS I love. Now I can throw in my election days, and my jewish holidays, and I will be counting down half of September! Seriously!

Gotta close the pool down this weekend... weather finally taking a turn DOWN to the 80s... SO glad! Catching up on DIS BIG TIME this weekend!!! :thumbsup2

Have fun!:) How far is KC from where you live?
Hurricane Earl manage to go on up the coast without us getting much effects. We had some big (for us) waves at the beach, but other than that..not much at all. We didn't even get any rain!
Hope everyone has a nice holiday weekend!:cool1:

We have them here in Wichita. They are OK, nothing spectacular. I enjoy the Popeye's omlette, made with egg beaters.

They close at 2PM, here.

I think we have been to Jimmy's Egg twice.
Both times we have been happy with our food, they do a good business.

You know Steph, that is exactly what Marc said, nothing spectacular. We haven't gone out of our way to go there. Never tried the Popeye's omlette though.

Thanks. I won't go out of my way to eat there but I won't avoid it either.

Here's my opinion, for what it is worth.

If you have never done it - YES!
The parade is incredible. One of the best I have ever seen.
The characters in the special costumes make for unique photo ops.
The dance parties are fun for all.
The candy stations are fun for kids.
Riding rides as walk-ons after you have done all the other stuff is nice.

If you do it, let the kids take late naps so that you can stay late and get the most out of the evening. Get there at four, ride some things until the 'party' part starts, get your candy and pictures, do a dance party, see the parade, then ride some more. We're not going this year, but only because we don't have the money, and because we need to leave some open non-park time for hanging out with Trent. If we did, we'd be going, and we've been before, so we do give it positive reviews.

And the Hallowishes fireworks too :thumbsup2
::yes:: that parade is one of the best....love the gravediggers and I may have a crush on the skeleton band :confused3:rotfl2:
I left it up to my friend that is going with me if she would be interested ( of course I was secretly hoping she would ) and she gave me the go ahead :goodvibes

Tracy

Oh yeah, and the villains show at the castle - Mix and Mingle. Brooklynn calls it Mix and Meedle.

We did the party in 2008 and had a blast!
So excited to go again.:goodvibes
Meeting at f&w sounds like a great plan though!

Okay, okay you all talked me into it. ;)

I posted the news on my TR (& had to text MeMom last night, because I was so excited!) I bought the tickets yesterday for Oct. 31st! :dance3:

You will have so much fun! We debated between the 31st and the 1st. The 1st won out with us.

I love your pictures from the fireworks on the 4th. Let's see - on the 4th we were at CB because my dad promised me we would be able to see fireworks from there...Well he was wrong. I wish I would have convinced him to go over to your resort and meet up with you.

Be safe and have fun in Kansas City!!!

I have a stinker I can send you!
Laura, thanks for the offer, but who knows when another will show up at my door?
perhaps "sour puss" was too harsh. :upsidedow I certainly don't think it's a job I could do either. just think.... one more day until the weekend.
"Sour puss" was hitting the nail on the head some days! Yay for the weekend!

I'll be facebooking like crazy the whole trip and will be sure to take some at "mix and meedle" for Brooklyn!
The last time we went to mnsshp we were newbies and had no real plan, I'm sure we'll do much better this time!
Just think of all the fun you will have next weekend then in no time at all off to Disney you will be going again!
How many days is your fall break?

We have nothing else in September, October is just the end when we go to Disney, November is full of days off though, Vetran's day and Thanksgiving break! Then we hit the holidays! I would be most happy for a few snow days this winter....
Not too many though!
Disney in 8 days, BLT in 9, so more please? popcorn::
Let's see about tonight.:cutie:
Have fun!:) How far is KC from where you live?

KC is a 3 hour drive, so not too bad. The weather was perfect! So glad you didn't get hammered by Earl!
Thanks. I won't go out of my way to eat there but I won't avoid it either.
Give it a try, who knows, you might like it!
Have fun in Kansas City!!!
We did, it was a great break!
Have a great time in Kansas City!
Fun place to go, thanks! Next Disney store outing is down your way...

You would have loved the view from Top of the World Club, it was outstanding. Although I'm not so sure the Poly beach wouldn't have been better.... We were awfully close.
Have a good time in KC!
It was fun! Disney store and a new American Girl store opened. You wouldn't believe the line to get in there! We waited and went back an hour before closing and got right in. Guess who got a "bitty baby" and stroller?;)

Please share your plan. :flower3: We will be the newbies this time and I really want to get the most out of it!

Here's what we do, if it helps.

Don't worry much about the candy. Some people spend so much time in lines for a couple of dollars worth of candy.

Line up for the characters you want to see early. We happened to be first to see Mickey (behind his house) last year. Then we went straight to Minnie.

Don't miss the parade.

See the villains show and join in the dance party.

When the crowd thins out, you can walk on many rides over and over, so make it an easy day, nap late, get there early, and make the whole night of it with no plans to get up until you want to the next day.

We have a DVD of the Halloween party, and Brooklyn had it on earlier. The parade music made me want to go, but we're skipping it this year. I'll be ready for it again by next year. It is sort of expensive, so it could be a good every other year thing.

Brooklynn sends this message to Miren:

Have fun at the Halloween party. You should go on the Big Thunder choo-choo train. :laundy: popcorn:: :simba: :figment: :dumbo: :hmghost: :eeyore: :stitch:
I like Maleficent at the Halloween party.
