Resort Hoppin' with Wigd and Shocker! Contests!

Happy Labor Day!
I've enjoyed having time this morning to catch up here! I've also enjoyed following along with your adventures on Facebook. That American Girl store looked so cool...my little girl doesn't like dolls though. Guess my wallet is happy about that! I liked that big Mickey at the entrance of The Disney Store.
I hope you enjoy your day off. :thumbsup2

Really? You'll have to let me know when!
If it weren't for noon soccer games we would head down that way in a matter of weeks. As it stands now it might not be until November unless we leave after soccer and stay Saturday night. I will let you know for sure.
Please share your plan. :flower3: We will be the newbies this time and I really want to get the most out of it!
I think MeMom has great advice! We won't be gathering candy this time for sure!
Here's what we do, if it helps.

Don't worry much about the candy. Some people spend so much time in lines for a couple of dollars worth of candy.

Line up for the characters you want to see early. We happened to be first to see Mickey (behind his house) last year. Then we went straight to Minnie.

Don't miss the parade.

See the villains show and join in the dance party.

When the crowd thins out, you can walk on many rides over and over, so make it an easy day, nap late, get there early, and make the whole night of it with no plans to get up until you want to the next day.

We have a DVD of the Halloween party, and Brooklyn had it on earlier. The parade music made me want to go, but we're skipping it this year. I'll be ready for it again by next year. It is sort of expensive, so it could be a good every other year thing.

Brooklynn sends this message to Miren:

Have fun at the Halloween party. You should go on the Big Thunder choo-choo train. :laundy: popcorn:: :simba: :figment: :dumbo: :hmghost: :eeyore: :stitch:
I like Maleficent at the Halloween party.
We made the mistake of getting caught up in the trick or treating aspect of being there and wasted time...
Will line up early for Snow White and the 7 little men:thumbsup2
Didn't make it to the dance party or mix and meedle last time, it's way up on the list this time.
Love the parade, must see again!
Baylor will NEED to ride BTMRR as much as possible!
Thanks for the much needed advice!

Catching up on laundry and going to school to work on my Capaci(tea) Party project.
Then some Target shopping IF we get done!

Will go and see my mom too, have McDonalds Madame Alexander dolls to take to her. She just loves them! We have been eating Happy Meals to keep her happy!

Then Harper will hopefully come over and get her Bitty Baby from the American Girl store!

Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs will be high on our list, possibly first, for the next time we go. That is a rare picture.

I hear grown-ups whining over the candy, and I wonder why they paid so much money to spend so much time getting candy when they could spend three bucks and go buy a big bag for themselves any time.

I saw that you were at McDonald's, but I didn't know you had a hidden agenda. I didn't know they had a good promotion going, because I rarely ever pass by a McDonald's. That's sweet for you to do that for your mom.

And you have to show us Harper with her new baby. I know they will both be adorable! :lovestruc

The most enjoyable thing we did during MNSSHP was the haunted riverboat ride!! Do they still do that? It was so much fun. We headed there as soon as the party started and got on the first ride. :thumbsup2

Thanks MeMom!!

I want to line up for Snow White and the 7 as a priority, also, Anita.

We will be joining in the dance party, for sure! :thumbsup2

I've read on other people's reports that at the end of the night they're just giving out lots of candy, so we'll wait and do that towards the end, I guess.

I think I'm going to youtube the parade, now I want to hear that music. :dance3:

To Brooklynn from Miren:
I didn't know they had other characters like Maleficent.

I'm not so sure about Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I want to ride it for you, but I don't know....

When we go to Disney again at the same time, we will ride Nemo and it will be only us in the car and everyone else in other cars.

I have a certain Cat in a bag over on my desk for you! :goodvibes

I hope you had a great weekend in KC!

Just a few pictures of our KC Disney store trip!
We met up with Rachel, slightly_obsessed. I wish we had planned to have lunch with her, although we did shop around a bit it was so nice to spend a bit of time with her! What a sweet person!

We also visited the grand opening of the American Girl store at the mall, it was crazy!!
We came home on Sunday afternoon and Monday it was back to school to complete my classroom project.
The Mad Hatter's Capi"tea" party!
Here's how it turned out.

DSCN4498.jpg

So that's what we've been up to.
Now back to the trip report.:goodvibes

Your measurement project turned out very nicely. Jill and I were talking about it in the car yesterday as we drove to the second Disney Store in the evening.

Yes, oh, yes, we got to go to two Disney Stores yesterday. :cool1:
I have a bunch of the same pictures you have. I'll put those up tonight or tomorrow after I get back home. So sorry we couldn't find the Peas in a Pod.

Hooray for a DIS meet for you!

Great pictures from you Kansas City meet, and the Mad Hatter display turned out adorable! I wish we had been able to find your Cheshire Cat and Peas in a Pod yesterday! :( I was able to fulfill your Chick-Fil-A request though.

I have a certain Cat in a bag over on my desk for you! :goodvibes

I hope you had a great weekend in KC!
Thank you Brook!! We had such a fun time in KC! The weather was beautiful! It was perfect up on The Plaza just walking around looking at all of the fountains...
So happy you found that silly cat! I'll bet he's still smiling even in that bag!

Thanks on the project! Even though we don't participate in the state testing in second grade, it doesn't hurt for them to start learning about those hard concepts early! Measurement is always a low indicator for us in the whole district.
I serve on the math committee in our school so this is my prototype of what will be going up in a couple of places in the school where it can be viewed by all students. (probably not Disney themed):sad2:

The Disney store seemed really small to me, but it was as close to Disney as I was going to get for a few more weeks. Thanks so much for searching for my plushies, the Peas are proving to be quite the popular little guys! I can't wait to see your pictures!

I so enjoyed the FB updates of your meet yesterday!
Thanks on the Mad Hatter display. Marc was so much help in putting it up. Although I think he was ready to string me up along with the cups before it was all finished....:rolleyes1

We have a Chick Fil A on the Wichita State campus which is a pain to get to, but there is a rumor that we have another going in that is in a much easier place to visit.

Your tea party came out great!! Love the pictures from the Disney store. I have been missing Mickey quite a bit!

Hi Christine! Thanks on the tea party! The Disney store was fun.:goodvibes Marc and I whipped out cameras and phones and started taking pictures the minute we walked in. We also met the nicest CM and visited with her for quite a while! It turned out that she used to work at the store that closed near us.
I've been missing Mickey too. It was just the fix I needed.
Your trip is getting close!

Now back to our scheduled trip report....

Looking back at the pictures that are reminding me what I have forgotten. We are not moving on to the next day.
MeMom, Jill, and the gang have just left us and what did we do? It wasn't raining so we took advantage of our proximity to the MK by heading there!
Picture from the Contemporary movie on the beach from the walkway.

Since it was late and the 4th of July fireworks had just ended tired folks were streaming out. They ushered us around the back way over toward the people mover.

Back stage pic of food service sign.

DSCN2003.jpg

When we came out the music was going and we were drawn in to the dance party! I posted video of this on FB. We hung out here for the entire party it was so much fun! One little rant... the poor CMs kept telling guests that the characters were supposed to dance with them not do autographs and pose for pictures. Well guess what? Lots of guests don't listen. Rant over.
Anyway we had fun!

DSCN2016.jpg

After taking the castle pics we walked through the shops looking for another pair of 4th of July ears for a friend back home that had sent a request. We checked out the sales and silly bandz as well!
We lucked out and snagged a great spot for the MSEP as we exited the Emporium, it didn't hurt that it had started to drizzle and it was quite late. Everyone hum along with me!

Great shot of Elliot!! I ♥ him ;-)

GREAT parade pictures!! Looks like a great time!! :thumbsup2

Bay Lake looks just gorgeous - my aunt and uncle are there now, staying before their DVC member cruise. I am dying to hear what they thought of it - I would love to stay there!!

Looks like you had a fun trip to KC :thumbsup2 I soooo miss having a Disney Store close by.....but....maybe that is a good thing ;) Hooray for a dismeet too!!
Your tea party turned out absolutely adorable!!!! I love it!!:goodvibes
:lovestruc the parade pictures!!!! Can't wait to see it....or Boo to You for that matter!! Baylor's intended!!!! I forgot about his arranged marriage!!! :rotfl:

Love the Tea Party! What a clever idea.

Great pictures from the parade. I haven't seen it since my very first trip ever in the 80's.

Did you show Baylor the picture of his future wife? How's he coming along on that castle?

I loved the parade pictures they brought back great memories of our trip in June.

The Halloween Plushies of Mickey and Minnie at the Disney story would have came home with me yesterday if I had noticed them at the Disney store yesterday. It is great that as we were meeting outside of Atlanta you were having a KC meet.

As a retired Math teacher I love your tea party display, I know the kids will love it.
