We have officially decided to go on a Disney trip with my sister and her family next November (2012) :cool1:
They have their own DVC points, and we will be using my father's points (which have all but officially been handed down to me and my brother.) In our room group is myself, my boyfriend, and possibly my brother, so we are definitely looking to get a one bedroom. Last trip we got a studio for two couples and while it wasn't the end of the world, I'm definitely looking to upgrade this time around.
My sister is completely in love with AKL, and is definitely staying there. She suggested we get an adjoining room and stay with them. There are three issues I have with that though. One, we will probably be going around the same time as them, but our dates might not match up completely, as I am trying to work around my college classes and she is going for more days anyway. Two, my BF and I stayed at AKL last trip and weren't crazy about it. Maybe it was our non-savanna view studio room that made it feel bland, but we just weren't all that excited about it. Three, since we've already stayed at AKL, I was hoping to experience a new resort experience.
So, what would all of you suggest? Try to make this experience at AKL better than last time? Try out a different resort and just meet up with my sister's family throughout the trip? And if we do stay at a different resort, which would you suggest from this list: Old Key West, Boardwalk, Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, or Bay Lake Tower. The only one I've stayed at out of those is Old Key West. It is our home resort and we stayed there every trip our family took since I was about 2. It has the nostalgic factor for me, and I'd love to share my love for it with DBF, but I kind of want to hear what others who don't always stay there have thought about it to get an outside perspective.
Thanks in advance :goodvibes

I'd pick BC for SAB, and walk to Epcot & DHS. There's also alot going on their with the Boardwalk in walking distance.
With cell phones & texting, it's easy enough to meet up in the park. And you can make dinner ADRs at each others resorts. We love Boma. And the Cape May Clam bake at BC would be fun for everyone.

We did a stay at AKL too, and was not impressed, even with a savannah view, we won't be going back.....

We had a studio at WL once, again not impressed but a 1 or 2 bedroom would be nice.....we're big fans of WL, it's just so quiet and peaceful, theme is fantastic and like I said, we book on location...like being on the lakes in the MK area with a boat to the MK.....

EPCOT area does little for us since we prefer the MK area and we did one stay in OKW, 2 bedroom and it was fantastic....like a condo but location was lackingfor us and didn't care to use the internal buses to just get around the resort....

Bottom line, it would be the villas at WL, they're located off the main lodge, secluded in their own building, nice villa pool, and hardly ever crowded...just the atmosphere and peacefullness of the lodge is great for us and the boat to FW and MK are just icing on the cake plus you can boat to the CR and do the monorail hop to the other resorts...all deluxe...

Sorry you did not like AKL; we are trying it for the first time, but we do have a savannah view.

We have not yet stayed at the Beach Club but plan to do so in 2013. I would go with that one for the theme, the pool, the food options, etc.

We have never visited the OKW (the only resort we've not at least visited); the BLT reminds me of an office building where I work and the WL holds no appeal to us for a number of reasons.
