Hi everyone, we're looking for some help on choosing a resort for our next trip. We will be two adults and two kids ages 2 and 8 months. We are planning on going the first week of May 2014. These are the resorts we are trying to decide between:

All Star Music Family Suite
Art of Animation Family Suite
Coronado Springs
All Star Sports

We like the idea of the family suites since we'll have a baby with us and it would give us more room. We stayed at Coronado with our DS as a baby and it worked great putting his pack and play in the sink area with the doors almost shut to give him a quiet, dark place to sleep so that is also a possibility and would save some money. Our biggest thing against Coronado is we really did not like the food or Pepper Market setup and we will probaby be eating at the resort every evening. Reading some reviews that is also kind of my concern with Art of Animation, I've read that the food court waits can be lengthy and we will probably eat dinner there every night. We'd also consider All Star Sports because our DS would go bananas - he LOVES sports of any kind, but our concern is the room being too small.

We are planning on bringing our car so bus transportation isn't a huge issue. Which would you choose, or do you have a different suggestion? Our budget is kind of flexible, we can afford a value, moderate or family suite but not a deluxe. Thank you :wave2:

If more room is your priority then you would want the suites. Have you looked at POFQ, it does not have doors like CSR but it does have a curtain. The resort is small and easy to get to every thing. I think your DS would like their pool, plus you can go over to POR and eat there for variety and use their pool etc.
We were lucky with our 2 DD's, in the fact that they did not need a dark and quite room to fall asleep, and once they were asleep, we could watch TV and they would not wake up:)

Yes, we went to POFQ twice before our DS was born and we loved it! It's actually my favorite resort. I didn't think about using the curtain - also it would be nice if this baby doesn't need an enclosed dark area to sleep like DS did but we'll see lol. Thank you for the suggestion, I didn't even think of it.

If you really were not all that fond of Coronado Springs, go with an All Star Suite. They are cheaper than the AoA suites, and the set up is more practical. In the AoA suites the kitchen area is right next to one of the fold outs. As in here is one bed, and 6 inches away is the coffee pot. Don't know why they chose that set up, it seems pretty silly. In the All Star Suites the kitchenette is in an alcove off of the living room area.

In that case, I would go with All Star Sports. The rooms are about the same size as a normal hotel room and your children are still small so I don't think you will be cramped.

Just to throw something else out there.... I think the wing/standard room at CR is not much more expensive than AoA family suite. Maybe that changed, I don't know for sure, but it's worth checking into anyway. I only mention it because of the ages of your kids and our experience with kids of those ages -- CR was a blessing to us because of the walkway to MK. Our baby/kids could nap right in the stroller as we walked back and forth between CR and MK. It was worth gold to us after a previous trip staying at AKL where we had to take a bus or car to the parks. Just something to think about.....

That's a good idea, I'll have to look into that. My DH and I stayed at BLT before and did enjoy the walkway.

Yes I'm definitely considering it, he got really excited when he saw the pictures of all of the balls in the basketball section lol.

I would go with the AOA family suite or POR or POFQ - I would want the space, for me that is important, there is not enough room in the values, once you put in a pack in play, stroller or strollers, baby items not to mention the toddlers and your bags.... lots of stuff.

With your kiddos being so small, you might could do a king room at a mod, and have plenty of room for you to move around, and store all your stuff. My friends did this they brought a stow and go play pen and portable crib, for the kids and had plenty of room. They were about the same age as yours. They stayed at POR - her oldest was around 2 1/2 and he loved old man island - also this gives you 2 choice for breakfast or dinner both food court are great, 2 pools, and there is the boat to take you to DTD, as another dinning choice.

Have a wonderful time.pixiedust:

Lots of good reasons to choose lots of different places! Whatever you choose will be magical:)

Just wanted to add that AoA has a splash area near the Big Blue pool, which would probably be good for kids your age. Also it's a short walk from AoA over to Pop Century, so you could vary your food courts.

Wise to be in walking distance of MK. Stay away from the Disney bus as much as possible. If you are going to spend most of the time at EPCOT and DHS, I would be recommending the Epcot resorts for the same avoid the bus reason. Think of the kids first.

If you can afford the family suite then I would definitely go with a family suite at AOA. We have 3 kids, 6, 2 and 9 months and I would love the extra room of a family suite! Unfortunately we can't swing that much of a price difference so we're staying at pop. However we've done it before, and while the room is a little cramped, and there definitely isn't enough drawer space for the 5 of us, a regular value room worked just fine once I did a lot of organization :p.

So if you can swing it, go with a family suite so you can put the little ones down and not have to tiptoe around or go wait outside the door... but if you can't afford it, then a regular room will fit you all fine too. :)
