Resort dressers

DW and I are having a disagreement on whether people do this. Do you unpack your clothes when you get to the resort and put them in the hotel's dresser drawers? Or do you live out of your suitcase for the trip?

If we are staying in a hotel for more than 3 nights we will unpack, less than that it's suitcase living. Usually do 14 nights on site at WDW, so first night is unpack.

Unpack. Living out of your suitcase/carry-on means constantly having them in the way.

At WDW, I unpack. If I'm traveling around, and on the move to different places, then I don't.

I hang up shirts/pants on the hangers, but leave the rest in the suitcase.

I tend to unpack everything everywhere I go. DW likes to keep stuff in suitcases though when we stay for a few days she likes to unpack as well.

Are you asking because you or your wife is afraid of bugs or something?

Yes, I unpack everything. I use packing cubes, so I literally just put them in the drawer and unzip them and we are unpacked. I also hang up anything that needs to be hung up (sundresses, jackets, etc.). I just find it's easier to find things if they are in the drawers as opposed to digging through a suitcase every day.

I even unpack the packing cubes! It feels so lovely to be at home when everything is in the drawers!

We are typically there for 10-11 days, so we unpack and put the suitcases in the closet. Everyone gets a drawer and we use packing cubes as well as ziploc bags so none of our clothes are actually touching the drawers. I hate digging in suitcases for stuff.

The only time I've ever unpacked was when we were on a cruise ship as there was no room.

I live out of our suitcase. There have been far too many reports of bedbugs at various hotels for me to chance it.

If more than 2 nights, I unpack. Even for two nights I hang up shirts, pants and dresses. I don't like living out of my suitcase.

I will unpack and hang up shirts and pants. If the stay is less than a week the rest stays in the suitcase. DW tends to unpack everything.

The first thing I do is unpack so that I feel like I am at home. I don't like rummaging through suitcases. Plus I think they get in the way.

Suitcase. A bit silly but I try and reduce the chance of bedbugs. Not sure if it actually makes a difference.

Never use the dressers. They provide great hiding places for bedbugs. That advice was straight from exterminators presented during an in service on the bugs at a school I used to work in.
