WOuld like a nice (non character ) resort dinner? Not Boma (love it) just want something different.

Thought about that also, kids are very picky eaters. I will have to review the menu. Thanks for your response.

In addition to Boma and 'Ohana, we also like the Kona Cafe (at the Poly) and enjoy Whispering Canyon Cafe (at the Wilderness Lodge - the food is okay but we like the atmosphere/fun).

We are trying, for the first time, Cape May for dinner (at the Beach Club) this trip - it gets lots of good reviews.

We really liked California Grill (at the Contemporary) but not sure you're looking for a signature restaurant.

Also would like to Flying Fish (at the Boardwalk) and Narcoossee's (at the Grand Floridian) - two more signatures.

And The Wave has a really interesting menu - almost switched our Kona ADR to here.

We like Olivia's at OKW (we are owners there, so I would say that...lol), but our kids love the food and the relaxed atmosphere. We liked Cape May for breakfast, and have eaten at Flying fish (just adults) and really all along the Boardwalk and have liked all the restaurants there. How old are your kids, that will make a difference.

Ate at the Yachtmans Steak house...yummy but a bit pricey for kids. I agree with Whispering Canyon...food is average but the atmosphere is fun for the kids.

Which resort will be your your base? How old are your kids?

O'Hana at Poly
Cape May Buffet at BC
Whispering Canyon at WL

Ohanas for sure! I was also concerned about my kids, who are very picky, liking the family style meal. Our waiter gave our girls the option of ordering something separate that was more kid friendly, such as mac-n-cheese, burger, nuggets, and he may have also added a hot dog as a choice. There was no additional charge for them order the kids meal on top of the family served meal. I was prepared to ask about ordering them a meal off a kids' menu if they didn't like the family style meal because I had read here on the DIS that you could, but I didn't even have to ask. Our waiter offered us this option w/out me even asking.

Would definitely recommend either Ohana at the Poly or Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL.

Both are favorites of ours.

We love Cape May Cafe at the BC :). We eat there at least once every trip......we love the variety of the buffet as well as the atmosphere :thumbsup2.

Another one my kids like is GF Cafe good food, great service & it has always been one of our quicker meals.

One of our new favorites is the Kona Cafe at the Poly...it's a must going forward. We tried 'Ohana twice and although we enjoyed it overall, the skewered meats were kinda dry, both times (2 years in a row).

The last 2 trips we enjoyed The Wave very much, both dinner and dessert.

We haven't been to the Cape May Cafe for dinner since 2003, but we enjoyed it.
