Planning an October 2012 no parks trip with our DS 10 and DD8. We'll be staying at the THV but will have a car, so we're open to anything. We've eaten at and enjoyed 'Ohana, Boma, Chef Mickey, and Cape May, so we're looking to try something different. Two that popped into my head were California Grill and Flying Fish. What others would you suggest? DS is a pretty picky eater but loves steak and fish, so someplace that has those (preferably on a kids meal if they'll let him get it) would be ideal. Thanks!

This past October, we tried the FF, for the 1st time. The FF is AWESOME, and worth the $$$$!! It is now our favorite WDW restaurant, and a must do each trip.

Other TS (no parks) we enjoy are, Cali Grille, Narcoosees, YSH, Artist Point, and Fultons. Not in any particular order.

Go to www.allears.net, dining, then menus, to see if there are items your DS will enjoy. FYI. As an adult, I have ordered of the childrens menu, with no problem, you just have to ask for a kids menu. Keep in mind this isn't a good idea if you are on the DDP.

This is not from personal experience, but a friend just returned and tried Boatwrights (POR) for the first time and raved about it. We did Sanaa last trip. I was nervous because my kids can be very picky, but we all loved it.

Flying Fish is our favorite Disney restaurant! Kouzzina on the Boardwalk is also very good.

Since you're staying at THV, take a look at what I think is one of WDW's hidden gems - the Turf Club, right there at SSR.
