Hey guys,
My wife and I are taking the girls, age 4 and 5, to WDW for the 6th time in November. I am looking for the most kids oriented resorts. We usually get a cabin for the family, but are leaving the youngest at home and figure to be more mobile. We will be there 5 nights and plan on visiting all the parks. Besides the cabin, we've stayed at POR,couple of the All-Stars, and CB. I would like to save some money, but have an AP to help with the cost. I have checked and all the resorts are available during our trip. Are the deluxe resorts worth it if we don't plan on focusing on MK while we there.

Thanks in advance,
Cboy

I went to AKL in August with DD4. We both liked it so much we are going again in December (and I'm one who likes to try a different resort each time). It's so much fun to look at the animals. The pool is great and we loved eating at Boma. Mara is also good for a quick bite. There are also fun activities like storytelling in the lobby and cookie decorating for kids in the afternoon. These activities are free for AKL guests. Many people say AKL is too far away from everything, but we found the buses to be great and it never took us long to get to any WDW destination. Rates are pretty good right now with the BAT or AP code. Even if you don't get a savanna view, there are plenty of places to view the animals.

My DS's like AKL too. It seemed like a hotel/zoo in one. We had a savannah view room, but you can still see animals from the viewing areas if you don't have a savannah room. I had a hard time getting my DS (age 9) off the balcony to go to the parks. It was peaceful at night to sit out and watch the animals-a nice break after a day in the noisey, crowded parks. We had no problems with the bus service; it was prompt and AKL does not share a bus with other resorts. One stop, period. We had breakfast at Boma every morning of our 8-day stay. I don't think I could do the All-stars again after AKL.

In my opinion, the key question to ask yourself and your family is how much time you will be spending in your room on your vacation.

All-Star Movies is very kid-friendly, just due to the theming! If you're shooting to save the most money, that would be my pick, although the smaller room size can sometimes be a deal-breaker. Otherwise, I would recommend the Caribbean Beach, Polynesian, or the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
