We are headed to WDW at the end of this month. On our day at MK we are planning on eating dinner at a CS somewhere close by at a resort (we were thinking maybe on the monorail line) so that we could cool of and relax a bit before heading back and finishing of the evening at the park. What are your suggestions as far as good CS at a resort close to MK?

Contempo is great - good choices and plenty of seating --order at the counter and they will bring it to your table. We've had the salmon, pot roast, salads, burger, etc - all have been good meals, promptly served and reasonably priced.
Another choice is the Gasparilla Grill at GF - especially the sandwich/salad service on the right hand side of the counter service area...food is good and nice to sit outside with a view of the castle-

The counter service options at the Polynesian are fantastic. Captain Cooks has a great menu, as does the Oasis Pool Bar.
I love Captain Cooks ... but with the tiny indoor seating area, where you probably have to sit outside, I wouldn't reccomend it to "cool off"

Geyser Point (Wilderness Lodge) may also fall into that category.
Take a pleasant boat ride from MK, a nice looking menu, and perhaps the most scenic resort QS views (of Bay Lake)
But I don't think there's much, if any seating in A/C.

I also agree with Captain Cooks (totally remodeled and very nice) and Gaspirillas. We were at Contempo a few months back-wasn't so good (very dry chicken & salmon). Also Geyser Point might be a fun option, very cool place with the indoor/outdoor thing going for it and comfy seating with a beautiful view of the lake.

Be aware the monorail is not always a reliable mode of transportation. We were stuck on it for many long minutes one afternoon in May. Monorail seems to be having maintenance issues; be prepared to take ferries or buses instead.

Contempo at CR would be the easiest because you can walk back and forth. Gasparilla's at GF is lovely. Not a big fan of Capt. Cook's - always chaotic and hard to find a place to sit. Also consider boating to WL and trying Geyser Point which has gotten rave reviews and would be a nice place to kick back and relax.

If you are looking for dessert I can definitely recommend Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian for Ohana Bread Pudding. Virtually no wait time, and you get a huge portion each.

The newly remodeled Gasparilla's at GF is wonderful. I have always found it to be not super packed and food comes out pretty fast which is great. I am also a big fan of captain cooks at poly, but I would have to say after the remodel at Gasparilla it became my fave of the CS around the MK resort area :)
