Does anyone have or know where I can find a definitive list of Christmas decorations at the resorts? And which ones are worth going out of your way to see? We just scheduled a last minute trip to experience Christmas at Disney.

The ones I know/kind of remember from the Travel Channel are:

GF Gingerbread House
AKL used to have a chocolate African display
Poly has some sort of display with a monorail
Yacht or Beach used to have a carousel
Boardwalk used to have something special but I can't remember what

GF has the gingerbread house as well as a huge tree, and they have photopass photographers there to take your picture in front of them.

AKL didn't have the chocolate African village display at Boma last year, but they do have a big beautiful tree, so it's still very much worth going to.

Poly didn't have a chocolate display last year, and doesn't have a big tree in the lobby, so I really didn't think it was worth it.

Beach Club has a carousel and Yacht club has a train village display (the carousel is chocolate, the train village is not).

In the Travel Channel special, the Boardwalk had a chocolate boardwalk display, but last year it was a scene of Mickey and Minnie in a living room with a Christmas tree and a fireplace.

I don't recall if it was shown on the Travel Channel, but Wilderness Lodge has beautiful decorations including a huge tree in the lobby.

It seems Disney has been cutting back the last couple of years. I thought last year was disappointing.

The Wilderness Lodge is the place to be if you are there for Christmas!!:thumbsup2

I have to agree with siskaren - GF, WL and AKL (in that order) are the ones I would go out of my way to see. We stayed at WL in December 2004 and the decorations were just perfect for the theme at that resort!!!

Here are some x-mas pics from CSR.

 You're kidding? We've gone at Christmas time for several years now and it did not look less. :confused3

We took the Behind the Scenes Tour for their Christmas decorations last year. They work on this year round and have plans for new things a year or two in advance. Their warehouse is incredible.

I think they are getting better. :thumbsup2 :santa:

I do think that BC, YC and Boardwalk are worth going to see, too - if I gave the impression that I didn't think so, my bad. :santa:

GF is definitely worth going to see. Not only do they have the gingerbread house, but also a large Christmas tree. If you are doing photo pass, they have a photographer or two there to take your picture in front of the tree and gingerbread house. Those were some of my favorite pictures! You can also buy some yummy goodies at the gingerbread house too. The other resorts mentioned are also nice. Usually deluxe resorts decorate more, but the moderates usually have some decorations too. Last year POR had a large tree where you walked in and wreaths and garland in the lobby area, but that was all. I'm going at Christmas time too and cannot wait to see all the decorations!! Have fun!

The CR had a very cute, large gingerbread and chocolate pinochio display last Xmas. It smelled absolutely delicious, too!:goodvibes The Poly seemed very light on the Xmas decorations last year. We have been going to WDW for either Thanksgiving or Xmas for the past several years and the Poly used to have a model of the resort done in gingerbread, but not last year.:confused3

The GF....what can I say? I love that place and it was fabulous as usual. The treats they sell in the gingerbread house store are yummy, too.:wizard:

WL, didn't see it last year, but it is always pretty & cozy at Xmas. Like home.

The BWI has a very fun & detailed display made up of a BW scene. I remember seeing Santa riding a coaster.:)

We saw the YC and BC... I remember the carousel, but not sure if that was last year or year prior. THey have pretty Xmas floral arrangements, too.

Happy travels,

Lives4Disney :)

we were there last year, bwv and bcv, but we went to other resorts as well. all of the resorts had somehting made out of gingerbread. as mentioned bw had the living room scene with mickey and minnie, bc had a gingerbread carousel.

we went to wl to eat, but i can't remember if they had a scene or not, but they had the big tree in the lobby, and garland hanging everywhere

at cr there was a gingerbread scene with pinocchio, gepetto, jiminy and figaro. the smell of gingerbread in all the lobbies was wonderful.

and all of the scenes had plenty of hidden mickeys on them.

didn't seem to have been any cutbacks to us.

The deluxe resorts are the ones to visit. GF is stunning, WL is my favorite, BC/YC and Boardwalk are super cute. Usually the Poly has a neat monorail and Poly themed gingerbread house outside of Kona but is was not there last year.

Definitely subscribing to this thread! We're doing our first Xmas trip in December & CAN'T WAIT! These lovely photos are really getting us excited!:woohoo: CSR looks beautiful!

Make sure to set aside time from park touring to see some of the resorts! It truly is a magical time to be at Disney:cool1: There are some must see decorations at this time of year!!!

Someone else asked this here, but didn't get an answer yet-- when do they start putting up the Christmas decorations? I am hoping they are up when we are there for T-Day (and into the next week!)

Thanks!
