Ramble? Never! I appreciate your commentsThere was a time that I thought the Poly had a fine CL, one of the top on property, especially in the late 90's, early 2000's. Chef Dick had that place top notch, you have to admit. Now, I have not stayed since Chef Dick has retired, and I would've loved to stayed at the CL if we could have, don't get me wrong!Just to try it and see the difference and why some are griping. Some people have nothing to gage CL by. You can't compare WDW CLs with offsite CLs. Just can't. Different animal.
The Tonga longhouse is fabulous as far as service, second to the 14th floor TOWER CLub at the CR. Now, I would love to have DH take me THERE in lieu of RPC to those new rooms/suites when they are finished! Just wonderful, that whole floor~love it!
Hope I didn't ramble to much!![]()

Tonga's out since we don't "need" a suite and the Tower Club is closed for renovations. You're right about offsite Vs. onsite CL - very different birds.
I love your honesty about the Poly, it's so refreshing. Everything you wrote is true and now that I'm down to a month before check-in, I'm getting cold Poly feetThink I missed that you have Poly GV CL booked? Okay, I guess I am the only one here that shares your Poly experience and would hesitate to stay there again until after the next refurb - even then I'd do so expecting some of the CM's to be less than cheery, although CL would help with that....but...her comes the but....I would absolutely NEVER stay GV CL because some of those views are plain awful! The back of the pool storage bldg, nothing but a tree in full bloom...maybe it's just me but if I stay Poly CL is will be a lagoon view with a request for 3rd floor (no 2nd fl balcony, as you know).
What about GF SL CL? It is still an MK resort, it would be a new experience - the rooms are large and lovely and until I stayed there, never appreciated the ambiance.
Or if DH would enjoy an EPCOT resort how about BWI CL? It has the absolute best CL reviews. I'm with you about YC rooftop views and even some so called water views that are nothing more than a very obstructed SAB view. While I dislike the creepy BW clown pool, there is a quiet pool...and you can request a water view with CL.
I love strolling through International Gateway over to one of the EPCOT resorts (have stayed at all except YC, including S/D)...but do miss being on a monorail resort and that special ambiance of an MK resort.
Again, as much as I love the Poly, would not stay there until a refurb. And while I'm not a fan of CL in general, we did seriously consider Poly and/or BWI CL, but BWI would have won out b/c Poly CL offerings do not appeal to me. Maybe I'm odd.![]()

The reason we've never been interested in the GF is primarily because we vacation at The Greenbrier in West Virginia and the GF is almost exactly the same theming as The Greenbrier (floral overload). Also, I've read many reports that the walls are very thin there. So those are my two (lame) reasons for not staying.
You are very right about BWI's CL, it gets rave reviews and that is really tempting when you spend a premium for CL at WDW. And knowing that CRRF4L loves it AND the CR, which is my favorite, says a lot.
But, I'm just not crazy about the location and the theming. Not to insult anyone, but the carnival-type theming isn't very appealing to us and every time I mention the resort to DD and DH I get the same comment about the "disturbing clown slide." I've mentioned there is a quiet pool, but they're afraid that our room would end up overlooking that "disturbing clown slide." I know this is so petty and unimportant in the scheme of things, but I can't seem to get them past the carnival theming.
BWI is the only Deluxe I have never been in. In fact, I've only been down the BW once in all our many visits to WDW. It is truly unchartered territory for us. We've just never felt compelled to venture "out that way."
Anyone (CRRF4L?) have any helpful advice to convince me to stay there instead of the Poly or YC? I'd love to hear everyone's opinion who's stayed at BWI. Is the carnival theming overwhelming or is it actually more subtle? Knowing how I love the CR and WL, what do you think would especially appeal to me over at BWI?
