Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Okay Miss Missy, when did you decide this?

I've missed you guys. I have been missing in action for a bit with final exams, graduation, final grades, cleaning out my classroom, moving to my new school, gathering materials for next year's 7th grade class and, FINALLY, booking airfare, dining, debating how many days at US/IOA and Disney and, YES considering BC vs. YC.

At LAST I have allowed myself to get excited about finally staying at BC....or YC. Right now I am booked at the YC but today I checked and BC seems to be closer to Epcot. I want to make sure that I have a room with a daybed.

@sjs314, we stayed at WL last year and in 2007 and we love the resort. We are looking forward to BC/YC this year. I understand the difficulty of your choices. Hoping you have a wonderfully blessed trip full of happy memories

At this point, there are no other decisions to make except YC or BC.... I have until July 2nd to make up my mind......Almost changed to BC this morning......I need to change SOMETHING..... I'm off to the dining pages....

I do think WL is a better fit for DH and I , we are not really the beach type. It was just hard for me to commit to staying there again.

I know that feeling of needing to change something all to well.

I just got started here on this thread recently and I was up to date on the board posts. This past week found me so sick with some virus and fever of 103 (and you can imagine the rest).

What a bad week to be sick. Lots of new room price info and lots of posts missed. Gotta

Good news: DB just called from NJ and his usual vacation week is not available in July so he will be coming when DH and I do our quickie Aug 4th-5th. We had planned on using a Marriott anniversary free night stay that expires Aug 8 or staying over with friends if he felt up to it after chemo , but now we are going to pick a resort so my brother gets to stay on property for at least a night. Yay! I hope something is available. I think DB would appreciate POP. I'll try for that first.

DH and I are attending a concert in Orlando the evening of the 4th. New plan is we'll all have a bite to eat somewhere at DTD and leave DB there for a few hours to do whatever he likes, and we'll meet up after the show. On 5th, first we'll do AKL for Dinosaur (DHs favorite); then something I've always wanted to do -- Winter Summerland miniature golf! DB is a BIG Star Wars fan so I think I know someplace else we'll be going Friday... Our Epcot Le Cellier ADR is only for 2 ppl so it may be kaput. Need to check on available ADRs for 3 ppl and see what looks tasty.

Just got off the phone with Disney.

We changed our resort.

We stayed there twice before and loved it, but I had been holding back about staying there since I felt the memories of vacationing there in the past with my DS would be too hard.

DH pointed out to me that we had stayed at YC before as a family which is right nextdoor to BC and memories would pop up there too. He was right so this morning I called and switched or resort to the Wilderness Lodge

Anyway off to play with my ADRs now since I do have to switch a few around do to the resort change.

Oh have to change my ticker too!

I hope your trip brings new happy times and reminds you of many happy cherished memories.

We were suppose to go to Montana this year but then had to cancel our trip last year so Montana got postponed. Now we will sorta have the best of both worlds and who knows maybe I will be able to convince DH to do Disney again next year instead of Montana. DH said when we stayed at WL he forgot he was in Florida. The lodge in Montana looks very similar to WL. I know I am terrible always skeeming(sp)

It's "good" skeeming though, we aren't planning bad things... My DH jokes and says...if only you used your powers for good (My reply, anything that gets me to Disney IS good)

I'm so sorry you were sick - sounds just awful! Hope you are feeling much better now.

Wonderful news about your DB - keeping fingers, toes and eyes crossed for POP to be available.

I got a lot of them from another Disney board where I used to hang out - no resort changers there and they'd never understand!!!

Anyway, I save any smilies I like to my pics, then upload to photobucket and keep them there so I can go get the link to post here. Feel free to help yourself to any you like! I've been told there is an easier way to copy the smilies, but it never worked for me.

As for the beignets - one visit when we were at the BWV, I took a bus to DTD, then the boat to FQ alone just to have a beignet! Can you believe some people do not like them!!!

I'm with ya' here. Epcot resorts really did grow on us quite a bit. We finally just flip-flop between BC & YC because we are similarly 50-50. I am partial to BC for decor especially at holiday time, but the last refurb at YC was pretty cool. Same with travel...BC better to walk, but YC better for boat... 50-50 again! I last did BC Dec 2010, and we had YC for our usual Aug trip 20-24 until the 2011 change was necessitated. Something tells me next Aug is YC... but Poly refurb is knocking. We took a break from staying at Poly until they did refurb. OMG, save me, I'm already planning my changes for NEXT August.!!

Thanks for the smiley info Christine! AND I have POFQ booked Dec. for beignets! You're making me hungry for that trip NOW. So funny. It is a resort I haven't done yet, and it is good for winter IMO and my annual Epcot Candlelight Processional trip. Also convenient for visiting my "God" -- Piano Bob Jackson -- at POR for his Christmas show.

For my own quickie early Aug 4th trip with DH and DB, I got POP with the standard 20%, so not bad. DB will be so surprised when he sees all that big STUFF. He has NO idea! And I got 50sPT and Boma breakfast ADRs, so I'm set. First week in August seems quiet, everything I wanted was available at such a late date. Hmmm.

Spoken like a true RC. I'm thinking more about getting my DS TO WDW next year. I usually book a bounce-back just in case and let it sit there until we start talking vacation, they I say "I have it covered" meaning that I already have the resort......of course in RC terms that means I have narrowed it down to 5 or 6 resorts or villas......

We got a ton of little dresses for the princess. I just need to find a special outfit for her meeting with Cindy at out CRT breakfast. It has to be something in a light blue to match Cindy. I found a kind of cute outfit but it was a little ehh for the special occasion. I still have a few months.

You haven't switched in 2 mos b/c you don't have enough time in a day!! Or just maybe all your hard work helped everything fall into place and you know it's perfect.

Now I've done it...my DS8 just saw pics of the pool at CSR. I thought I was concrete on POFQ but he is now begging to stay at CSR. It would be kinda neat to stay somewhere new but POFQ has been refurb. Here we go again!
