First, vent all you need to Hannah, we are here for you. Second I wouldn't cancel or change the reservation yet. Sit on it for a while, maybe DBF will come around. My DH never wanted to go to WDW due to going to Florida one year with 2 of his buddies and hateing the heat. Years passed and one day I decided to book a trip to WDW for myself and my 2DS. That evening I told DH about "our trip" Funny thing happened he decided he wanted to go too! And I never had any trouble getting him to go again. I even talked him into going to DL
Now a solo trip or one with Grandmother again sounds like a plan too. I went once for just a weekend with a friend it was short and sweet and gave me my much needed Disney fix.
You guys really are the best.

He wouldn't really give me any good info to work with. I kept asking him questions so I could get some sort of info to work with for planning the trip so he doesn't have to hear me talk about it. Like, I asked him if he wanted to do a package instead of a room only so we could make payments over the next year or so. It would be easy to pay off $1300 (room and tickets) in that amount of time because it's such a small amount. I'm even willing to just do a Sunday - Friday so we won't have to pay the extra money for a Friday and Saturday night stay which will make this even cheaper. He also wants to do a day at Universal because if we are in Orlando we might as well do that, so we have to do a Saturday - Saturday. And going to Universal is going to cost extra money. We will either have to go through Mears or rent a car to get there as well as get the tickets for Universal. I don't know if he wants to do the Harry Potter World.
I just want to know what he would like to do so I can try and work things out on our vacation. How many days he wants to spend at the parks, is he looking at eating like a king (meaning will he eat a lot), does he want to do any shopping, does he want the room and tickets paid off prior to the trip, etc. I have some info like him wanting to go to Universal for a day, but that doesn't give me much to work with. I can't really get an accurate price for Mears or a car rental place this far out in advance. All I can do is try and price out how much it will cost.
I don't want to talk to him about it because I'm afraid I'm only going to agitate him. He was nice enough to listen to me yesterday, but it totally didn't go the way I wanted it to. I wasn't expecting him to get all excited about it, but I didn't expect us to argue. I know there's plenty of time before the trip to decide everything, but I would like to know if I should start putting any money into it now. I want to start paying off this trip ASAP so I won't have to worry about it later. I would have to pay roughly $78 a month for the next 14 months (since you have to pay everything off by the 45 day mark and I would have $200 already paid since that's the deposit) for it to be all paid for. That's pretty good! I'd much rather do that than pay over $100 a month because we are waiting to even decide on what we are going to do. And he won't have to pay a penny because I'm willing to pay for it all. He can just save up money for his food and souvenirs.
I hope all this stress is worth it in the end. If this trip doesn't end up happening, I'm gonna be really frustrated that I stressed out for nothing. If this doesn't go as planned, I'm so going to do this as a solo trip.
LillianGracey Hannah, I wouldn't cancel yet either. And you are ALWAYS welcome to vent. This is a safe happy place!
Thanks.
