Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

I'm still not ready for marriage:lmao: I will also do some wishful thinking for a Disney Wedding. There's a WDW honeymoon registry too! A coworker showed me his. I got him gift certificates for Narcoosee's (his and his fiancee's fav WDW restaurant):goodvibes

Oh my gosh! I'm so doing that! Though I wouldn't expect anyone to do that for me after getting me nice wedding gifts. :rotfl: Except for my gramma. She would do something.

I wonder if they are going to have it where you can pick which section you want to be in since they are going to have a TLM, FN, TLK and Cars sections. I'm debating between TLM and TLK. I guess it would depend on what the rooms look like and what I would see looking out of the window.

Off to the two AoA threads!

Last I heard the non-suite rooms would be The Little Mermaid - the rest would all be family suites. :thumbsup2

DS 2 distracted him because when he saw the monorail on the envelope he ran to the DVD player yelling "DISNEY". We watch the planning DVD EVERYDAY!!!! kaffinito I'm so glad I ordered another one! DH won't dare throw this one away since other than Toy Story 3, the ONLY DVD that stops temper tantrums:worship:

Gosh, sure wish my 2 1/2 year old DGD would show interest in the vacation DVD's. I liked the ones from the 90's, those were great and not boring at all. The last one we had was even boring for me!! Of course Sophia has not been there yet and only watches the clips from the MVMCP on line and the old Disneyland Sing-a-Long, which is mostly characters singing in the MK.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much the last couple of days - my little 5 lb 18 yr old Maltese has been sick and so she is my priority right now. She is the sweetest little thing, but it is so sad to see her not feeling well. She was a puppymill breeder for 13 yrs - horror beyond imagination. When the Mill owner died, rescue groups were able to get to the doglets and eventually we adopted Gracie. She takes valium twice or life is a bit scary or her. She is as sweet as they come - missing half her lower jaw, no teeth and very bad cataracts, so I just love her for as long as she has - want her last memories to be of being loved.

Oh! I know how you feel about your precious baby!!!!
Don't blame you one bit! Making her days as soothing and loving as possible!:cloud9:
God bless her and you! ::yes::

pas130-LOL, I hear you, my friend from the GF thread! :wave2:
And I'm having to check all mail AND emails now since I've added the Swan and changed the GF plans. oh the webs we weave.....:rolleyes1

kaffinito-Isn't that RPC deluxe queen da BOMB? Now you know why I was all knotted up over it? And they're only in the main building, darn it.

And getting the bounceback is the only way it's really affordable for us. I've only been able to find that room with an AP rate or a BB, never rack rate or other discounts, go figure. Now, I know nada about DVC points...so that'll be so cool if you can use them on that!

sjs314-last time I checked, a couple of minutes ago, they were still down! :headache:

You are missed, but sounds like you have some very important cuddling to do. Poor furbaby, I am so sorry she is not feeling well:sad1::hug: We lost our puppy 2 years ago, and I still miss her terribly...She was 11 years old and 150 pounds but my baby. We rescued her at 6months. She didn't even walk. But she grew out of it with lots of love. I will pray for you and Gracie. All she needs is your love right now. So sorry you are going through this, I know it must hurt:hug:

Little Mermaid it's going to be then if that's true! I posted pictures of the LK and LM rooms and hoping he doesn't find them too tacky. :rotfl:

Oh my gosh! Your poor dog! I started tearing up reading your post. That is so sad! I hope she feels better! I know you will take great care of her. She is in wonderful hands.

You ladies are such a bad influence on me ;) I've changed my last 2 nights again :lmao: Now staying at the GF in a theme park view room, will spend quite a bit of time being pampered at the spa, and currently thinking about V&As for my last night's meal, although not 100% on that one yet.

Do I think this is it? Well, yes re. the GF, if a RPC theme park view room opens up then it might not be the end of my changing, but I really do want the theme park view so if RPC isn't available I'm happy with a non CL room.

I'm now finally feeling the 'magic' re. this trip, it's going to be special as (for personal reasons) it's going to be my last for quite a while.

Nice:thumbsup2 I hope all is well re: last trip for awhile. As you know I think the GF is:cloud9:

Wow. I see that I am a couple years late on this thread, but I sure hope to join in anyway. I, too, am a resort changer. It has taken me some time to admit...but there it is. :wave2:

I am in the process of reading this entire thread from the beginning. It may take some time but I can see it being endless entertaining. I am laughing at seeing myself in the pp comments. :lmao:

So about our stay habits: Our annual August is taken with dear family... DNiece and DNephew, who live in a "faraway land". DH and I also do long weekend type trips during the year since we live so close. :cloud9:

So for our upcoming trip in August, we've gone from BWI to split YC/BWI to YC. Only three changes, not so bad considering other year ressies. We thought we were done, but one additional change has been made... to CBR. We all decided on "down-dollaring" our trip due to family that could better use this extra money during a rough time. :cheer2:

The Epcot resorts area had become our happy place, but we'll have just as much fun as we ever do together in this "new" resort for us this year. And it has spurred us on do a bunch of new things as well. Good times await! :dance3:

We've always done resort room only purchase with FL res rooms & FL res AP tickets. But I see lots of DVC points & trade talk for CL rooms and am curious. I will try to research further or if anyone can point me in the direction of a good site (or thread) to get started with DVC.

Thanks again for a great thread!

:welcome: This is a great thread, filled with WONDERFUL, understanding people. I can't help much with DVC stuff, as I no longer am a member, nor have I rented points. But I too have always been a "resort changer" and I thought I was alone before finding this thread.:confused3 I have to say I was welcomed with open arms:goodvibesWow, reading from the beginning. I am impressed:thumbsup2 I am sure your August trip will be AWESOME. I look forward to hearing more about it.:)

I can't even begin to multi-quote everything I've missed last night and today. Christine, I did make some comments this morning to you on the WL thread:hug:

MAGIC...itis! pas130 already welcomed you and I second the motion!

Where DVC is concerned, it just has never made sense for us. I have always booked both room-only and packages with discounts, and usually 40% off. You can use these discounts at any of the DVC Villas and you'll get daily housekeeping. I can book wherever I want with discounts and I can cancel or change (and boy, do I take advantage of that;)). For us, the numbers just don't work out to our advantage to buy DVC. But if you'd like more info., here is a link to the DVC sub-forums:

Hope everyone is having a good day. DD spent the morning at the White House attending the welcome ceremony for Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel. I'm looking forward to the details when she gets home.

WDWKOOK That is soooooo AMAZING! I can't wait to hear more about her day:thumbsup2 My MIL came over from Germany around 1960. You must be very proud of your DD, not that you weren't already! :lovestrucThis is off topic and I could also ask on the Poly thread, but do you know if there's changing rooms by the Volcano pool? (we don't check out til the evening, I think the kiddos would like a swim after checkout) :goodvibes You can always fill me in when you get back;)

pas130: I can't recall whether there are showers, but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing them in the bathroom. Definitely the IPO could tell you.

Oh, your MIL is German? Does she still cook German food? My mother was from Belgium, but my father's relatives are all German, but he and I were born in Chicago (DD was born in Korea:upsidedow).

Are you 100% recovered from your ailment:sick:? I hope so - you had us worried!

Since the WDW reservation systems have been down all day hopefully that will have fixed the problem of the room only discounts from August 14th - October 1st coming up as a Magic Your Way Package.

WDWKOOK, that is awesome!! I hope you'll share her morning with us! I didn't know you were born in Chicago - me too!

Oh.My.Gosh. All this talk about GF - I LOVE the GF!!! Though have never done CL and if I did, not sure which... not sure I'd like being in the main bldg, but SL does not have the best views and for that kind of money I want the BEST view!!:rotfl:

Thank you for the sweet thoughts for Gracie - we went back to the Vet this afternoon for more fluids. If she could just eat, I think she'd feel much better. One med builds her appetite (valium), but the heart med does just the opposite. Just like people. She wants to be with me, but I care for my DGD during the day, so the pups stay in the home office with DD. She is such a sweetie.

Me thinks I need to make a ressie just to have one to change.:rotfl2:

I love all of your changes and cannot wait until the actual trips to know where you will rest your heads at the end of each day.:thumbsup2

Welcome back!

Maybe they are fixing it (or making it worse:upsidedow). And/or maybe they're adding some special offers? I don't think there have been any rumors of such, but they really do need a new AP discount.

This is a rough week for you and Gracie, but you're doing all you can for her AND you're taking care of your DGD, too so I hope you remember to take care of yourself, too.

Well I was just on their a few minutes ago and saw the site was back up, however it's still showing as Magic Your Package and that means nothing was fixed.

It's also not a problem with my computer because I cleared all my internet files and a few days ago somehow my computer got a virus. Well I finally got it back earlier today, so when it got fixed you think that would have fixed any issues it might have had with the WDW website.

PAS130 & WDWKOOK: :goodvibes Thanks for the nice welcome and the DVC info. I do remember checking into it about 5 yrs ago and not going further with it, probably for the reason of it not making sense for our situation at the time. But memory isn't my strong suit these days...ahem!! :rotfl2:

popcorn:: Back to reading this bad boy from the start...

MAGIC...itis! :welcome:

So glad to have another RCer on-board!! :goodvibes

I seriously considered buying into DVC, but I did not like the resort available at the time, did not like the yearly dues, no daily housekeeping and a few other reasons, but a HUGE reason is that I'd not be able to change resorts when the mood hits. Usually, when I first book, I feel sure that's the resort where we'll stay...but the more time I have between booking and the trip, the more changes....too much time to think about my fave resort, or which one we've not stayed at in a long time so maybe it is time to back....or it's the holidays and I love such and such lobby during the holidays...then oh, no, I really want to save money and stay here...then, well, if I put money aside and am careful then I could stay here...and on and on it goes...
