Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

So...I'm at it again and we haven't even booked yet! We'll be heading back in January 2011. Hoping to stay 9 nights. Right now I'm leaning toward CBR because of the zero entry pool. (Even though weather can be iffy in January.) Loved the pool at the Poly and DD is not tall enough to stand in one of the regular pools. Then I started thinking about POR, because so many people like it. But then I remember how much fun we had at Pop Century. Of course we'll be there a little longer than usual, so maybe we should think about a split stay. Of course we can't decide about whether we want to add the dining plan either.

Let's see - for Aprils trip I would have had CBR? OKW? POLY? GF? AKL?

For the next one I can add BWI CL and then OKW? YC? POR? CR?

Orignally booked pop free dining bounceback. I couldn't find a room only bounceback so we just booked pop with free dining. Changed that to the QSDP free dining offer when that came out. Just not intrested in a ton of ts service since pop only has a food court.

When the 40% deluxe came out for my dates just booked AKL pool view bunk beds. I'm pretty happy with that. I really wanted just the pool view room but the bunkbeds was my next cheapest option. Now thinking of adding a one day ticket and one of the dining plans. I think I need help now! LOL

I'm thinking, Pool view bunkbeds at AKL is cheaper than woodview Bunkbeds at WL isn't it? Hmmmmmmmm (I'm just saying, you know, it's cheaper.....so.....maybe......just maybe......

OK so talked to DH last night and ran the whole split stay by him......not sure what he would say and he said .... "YES!!!!!!!" Wasn't sure if he would be interested in moving resorts in the middle of our stay but he said "sure why not?" So now with a 40% code or renting DVC points again we can stay about anywhere for the last 2 or 3 nights. Now I am more confused than ever. We stayed at AKL 2 yrs ago and really liked it but we wanted to try something different this time. Now though with Kidani being open, I think my girls would love the pool and splash area there so I am thinking of going back to AKL. Of course with 40% for only 2-3 nights we could also do that CR tower room we wanted originally. But I was thinking since this would be at the end of our vaca we would want to spend a few days relaxing at the resort before coming back to the real world. AKL looks so much more relaxing than CR. I think at CR we would be too tempted to be on the go all the time with the monorail and MK at our doorstep. This has only added to my problem when he said yes!. Oh and now thinking of upgrading that FD to DxDP for the first part of our trip. I am just giddy..... I knew you girls would understand

Cool! I love split stays! With your DD's ages, I'd go for Kidani myself. That new pool area is really neat looking, and it is relaxing.

Hey everyone~

I stumbled on to this thread a week or so ago and have enjoyed the posts.

Here's my story:

2007: started out at ASmu, but changed to POR. Loved the trundle bed in the Bayou. DH enjoyed early mornings to himself as he walked to the main hall for coffee.

2009: started at Pop, changed to POR, changed to AKL. Loved AKL. Went w. DDP and loved it, but kiddos hated it.

2009 Disneyland: started Candy Cane Inn, changed to HoJo suite, ended up at Paradise Pier

2010: DH said no WDW trip this year. (uh,huh...) DVisa FD came out. Said hey, we can go for 5 nights @ Pop with free QSDP for next to nothing. DH knows he can't win argument. Then I figured out that if we moved the dates up one week, we could stay for 6 nights for the same price...made the reservation change...kiddos asked if auntie could come along...added a room onto the ressie...saw the 40% off deluxes and thought "Auntie really loves animals, we should spend a couple of nights at AKL"...changed ressie to 3 nights at Pop with QSDP and 3 nights in a two bedroom suite at AKL Kidani...now I feel guilty as trip is no longer "next to nothing"...so then think maybe we should go somewhere in the middle and should pick a Mod, but then look at available dining ressies and our favorite restraunts are booked (and kiddos hated table service every night)...or we could go back to Pop the entire time...or we could do standard rooms at AKL?????

No problem. I still hoping for a strandard pool view room to open up at AKL. But when showing dd the pictures she saw the bunk beds and freaked out. She wanted that room. So maybe I'm supose to stick with this.

I'm still at BWI CL, so don't worry about that one!

Now we can get POR on points, and DS17 (he will be 18 the day we check in) could have his own room. We all love POR -it was our first resort on our first WDW stay.

Besides, while YC would be fab - there is nothing worse than sharing a bathroom with a teenage boy. Especially a boy who couldn't hit the toilet if it was 20 feet across.

Now I'm willing to put up with wearing shoes in the bathroom for the sake of my beloved CL, but not for the entire trip!
