Oh no its happening again!!!!!

So I was sold on WL but then I was thinking what the hey since I'm just dreaming lets price out YC/BC/BW/GF/POLY/CR see what we come up with! Now I am leaning toward BW or if I get rich in the next few weeks GF. Then my mother and I start talking about how great CL is Now we want to go all out! But I am pretty sure this is gonna get out of control!! Im trying not to change my resort until A. I get a 40% off pin or B. the winter deals come out. But everyday I get the urge to call DISNEY and just "Price things out". Which really means upgrade w/o consulting anyone! LOL!!! I cant take this!!! DISboard makes me sooo crazy!!! I love it!! But I am so informed of my possibilities now that I cant turn back!!! AHHHHHH Its gonna be a LOOOOOOOONG 7 months!!

They have all of our pictures up like Most Wanted posters in a post office.

I have a huge problem. I have to change my dates. I know for sure now that I cannot go from Aug. 29 - Sept 6 and I called to change to Aug. 18 - Aug. 28 but they say that they have NO standard WL rooms for that time!!! This is with BB free dining. They say that they have AKL available and we LOVE AKL but we were at Kidani last year and AKL the year before. We REALLY wanted to be in the MK area OR (BIG OR) Epcot but the difference in the price is HUGE!!! WHAT DO I DO!!! I want to change my week TODAY but I'm stuck. My DH keeps saying that if I am too stressed maybe we should cancel If we changed to Contemporary, I would have to loose a day or two. I HAVE to change and I don't know what to do. I need your help, professional resort changers!!!

I've always wanted BC because I LOVE the Epcot area. I grew up on the Jersey Shore (Yes, fist pumping Jersey Shore) and the boardwalk area is very authentic. My DH thinks it would be too loud and said that if we are spending that kind of money, he wants a view of SOMETHING. (I think Epcot is a great view!!) Anyway, I'm hoping SAB is enough to sell him next time. We can't do it this year but hopefully next visit.....unless we hit the lottery.....or eat hamburger and start walking instead of driving until August, THEN we can do it this year!!! We did consider Contemporary Resort this time.....it is still my DS (15)'s dream resort. Sarah, I think BC is calling YOUR name!!!!

Hmmm.... I actually am doing the opposite of most of you. I keep downgrading. Started with the Poly CL TPV. Decided it really wasn't worth that much more than a Poly GV, I could spend that money on some great meals and tours.

Then I thought well, is the difference of staying at the Poly for the Dole Whips and the monorail really worth that much more than the WL? Decided I would move to the WL.

Then was confused by my own decisions, maybe I should book a different resort. So I put all the resorts in an online randomizer and what came up was the POR.

I actually was sort of excited about it. So I changed my reservation, yet again. I thought I was done...

I keep remembering the wonderful savanna view at the AKL and sipping coffee on the balcony. Now I am not so sure.

I feel like I am related to you......Hello Cousin Figarofan! While I was a bit upset about the possibility of missing out on WL this year, I remembered the beautiful animals of AKL and asked myself, would it be THAT bad if you had to change??? My oh how I wish that BC was in the budget this year. I would book it in a heart beat......and then change to something else most likely (It's the thrill of the catch I tell you!) It's like catch and release fishing.

Please tell me about the radomizer. It sounds like something we resort changers invented.

yep as I predicted I called today and changed my resort! I did wait until I got the pin code today though!!! So I have gone from POR to POP to WL!!! But all that was available was Woodsview with bunk beds. I just wanted a standard room. The CM didnt even tell me it wasnt standard. It seemed more than my disnedy math but I figured im bad at math so maybe its my bad math skills. So I get off the phone and pull up the ressies online and it says woods view with bunk beds which brings the cost up $400+. What to do What to do Do I call or except that the disney gods want me to have this rm ??????? A bit dramatic I know!!

haha! I know what you mean. I heard they had a pirate room at the CBR.. we stayed there for our first trip. It would be a downgrade for us, and I was seriously considering it before I had to slap myself up besides my head.

Are they charging you for the upgrade? Did they tell you you'd have to pay the difference?

Hi, was there a woods view available at WL? I don't think that it is that much more per night, for the room with 2 queen beds. I would keep checking back, you never know. It could open up. The main thing is that you change to somewhere before there is nowhere left for the week you want. I wish we were going to WL again (my fav). But, I love Pop too, especially with it being 1/2 price and DS's never wanting to be at the resort.

UPDATE: They were able to give us the standard that we booked earlier! I am so happy except......now I want Bunkbeds..... I will wait until I get there and then try to upgrade. Why? Because I may decide to change resorts completely. I was thinking that next year we may not go because of all of the renovations to fantasy land. We may skip next year and wait until all of the renovations, upgrades and changes are made so.......maybe this is the year of the BC trip!!! Who knows? (Certainly none of us! We're the resort CHANGERS!)

Catch and release is right!! It is a thrill to get the room you want...but then it is so much fun putting it back in the pool and see what you can catch next.

I was so happy with my decision to do POR, for a couple of days...but after posting how great it is to save money and do all those things with the extra $ I started thinking about not having a balcony, so I called and changed from POR, to AKL SV & Poly split stay. Yet even when I was on the phone I asked the room types that were available. The nice lady booked a GV for me and as she was reading the info back to me, I was thinking, "Gee, maybe I better do LV" so I told her LV and she said no problem and I then apologized to her and asked sorry... can you check on TPV. So that is what I took.

Please oh please I hope this is it. And now I feel good, but I get those feelings...think how much I could save with a moderate while my other thought is ...how nice it would be to do CL.

I am waiting for Kaffinito to come back. She is our 12 step meeting leader. My SIL is staying POR. They have 5 and wanted to have the extra bed. We thought about CSR but I keep thinking the resort is too big. I would LOVE BC this year. I wanted BC last year and we switched from BC to SSR to OKW back to SSR and ended up at Kidani.......whew. The year before we went from AKL to WL to AKL and the year before that we went from AKL to WL and couldn't switch back to AKL and tried all the along BUT love WL anyway. We will see this year where We end up.

Yay!! I'm glad you got the room you wanted.....for the moment anyways I finally gave in to DH and decided on a split stay at CR TPV & Poly GV Room

Still around, and still switching... I promised my self that whenever I booked a DVC trip that I wouldn't change resorts, but so far that has only worked on one trip.

So why aren't you trying for BC? I was going to myself, but I don't really want to stay there yet. I might do YC over Spring Break next year on DVC points, which is NOT changeable, so we'll see - I have a month to book it. So what's up with BC for you?

So far have managed to not touch my ressie for about 4 months. I am currently booked AKL Club Level. I am starting to feel the itch to change again ...thinking more and more about Beach Club. This is my last trip...going with my 14 yo son August 21-26 and then heading over to Universal for 2 days. My son and I ADORE AKL.... and it is the only resort we have ever stayed at....stayed Club level both previous trips (January 08 and Sept 09). I am liking the idea of less busses, and being within walking distance of Epcot, access to DHS boat launch, and the night life of the boardwalk area, SAB, movies on the beach, smores, etc.... It is intriguing to me to try something new, and I am tossing all the scenarios around like a crazed juggler!! My son is stuck on wanting to stay with old faithful and loved AKL.... I am torn between that and experiencing something different!
I don't know what to do....I guess it might just come down to which resort has availability for Free Dining. If AKL CL does not have room availability this year, perhaps the decision will be taken out of my hands and I will be forced to try something new!!!
I don't know...I am confused, and I guess GP Free Dining will end up being the deciding factor for me!
Thinking is never a good thing to do when there is so many lovely options to choose from!

We are trying to stay on budget BUT I don't think we are doing universal this year soooooo maybe BC with the extra dough??? we will see in the next few days. Chimo AKL rarely sells out for FD!!! The only year it did was when they were renovating and they stopped taking reservations. We LOVE AKL too. WL is a lot smaller so the rooms and catagories sell out quickly. When I thought I couldn't get WL the other day, they told me that AKL was available.

I think I am coming down with your bug. I don't know where I caught it but it I have been bitten. I have never had this trouble but now I can't make up my mind. I have been booked at CR GWstd for a while now with 40% off code. Called this morning and was able to change to FD and save $100 more. But something keeps nagging me, that is a lot of $$$ for a room we won't be in much. I know it is for the conviences yadayadayada.... but still I priced it out this morning and I can actually add a day if we stay at POR and still come in almost $1000 cheaper than CR. I don't like POR though...... jsut not a resort that apeals to me. There are 5 of us otherwise I would have switched to another mod or even WL or AKL a long time ago. I have gone back and forth, priced, looked, imagined, read every review I can find even polled with 3 kids. Is still don't know what I want to do!!!

Usually when FD comes out - folks spend a few days bouncing back and forth between resorts, and availability can change hourly. I'd wait, and if you are really sure about switching to POR, then check a few times a day to see if it's available, and then book it - even if you have to book online. You can always call CRO when it opens to cancel the other ressie.

First thing in the morning is a good time to check, and Mondays and Saturdays are good days for new inventory. Of course at the 45 day mark there might be something, and next Tuesday should have more options since a lot of folks will book and then not pay - or not be able to pay the initial deposit.

However, be warned that once you let go of CR GWstd, you won't get it back. It would be a miracle if it popped back up again. Hope this helped!
