Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

OMG! I couldn't leave well enough alone...had to go comparing prices AGAIN after finding out you CAN add dining to the summer 40% off deal at deluxes.

Well, I changed my resort and my ressie from FD to the 40% discount. It saved us a whopping $800.00! I couldn't pass that up! Beach Club it is. I am hoping I won't regret the change, but I couldn't pass up the savings either. We kept our park hoppers, Deluxe Dining and only gave up Club level. I so hope I will love BC as much as we loved AKL!!! I am a little nervous about the change, however, I REALLY don't want to change AGAIN!!!
 to be in Disney and :banana:for the discount, it'll be nice to have some extra spending/or saving(depending on if we use it all or not) money!

I don't think you'll regret the change. Can you really eat up an extra $800.00 worth of food? ;) BC is a very nice resort, and with that wonderful pool, and the easy walking distance to EPCOT and to DHS you might find that you have a new fav resort. :)

Besides, switching is good for you! (No, really. It is :))

So WWYD?

Keep my BWI CL/BWV split, or go for a BWI CL/OKW split? (notice I am NOT giving up the BWI CL part?;))

Inquiring minds want to know. Plus I'm literally dying to switch over to OKW. :upsidedow

I just don't know how difficult it would be without a car, KWIM?

Thank you for the comforting words! :goodvibes I have decided to just start getting excited for this new change...and look forward try something different and new. Who knows, I may just love BC as much or more than AKL, and I'll never know until I try it!
:flower3:

I am waiting for Kaffinito to come back. She is our 12 step meeting leader. My SIL is staying POR. They have 5 and wanted to have the extra bed. We thought about CSR but I keep thinking the resort is too big. I would LOVE BC this year. I wanted BC last year and we switched from BC to SSR to OKW back to SSR and ended up at Kidani.......whew. The year before we went from AKL to WL to AKL and the year before that we went from AKL to WL and couldn't switch back to AKL and tried all the along BUT love WL anyway. We will see this year where We end up.

How'd you get that monorail on your post? Really cool!

Usually when FD comes out - folks spend a few days bouncing back and forth between resorts, and availability can change hourly. I'd wait, and if you are really sure about switching to POR, then check a few times a day to see if it's available, and then book it - even if you have to book online. You can always call CRO when it opens to cancel the other ressie.

First thing in the morning is a good time to check, and Mondays and Saturdays are good days for new inventory. Of course at the 45 day mark there might be something, and next Tuesday should have more options since a lot of folks will book and then not pay - or not be able to pay the initial deposit. :)

However, be warned that once you let go of CR GWstd, you won't get it back. It would be a miracle if it popped back up again. Hope this helped! :goodvibes

Well I wasn't completely forth coming. :rolleyes1 I have also thought about 2 rooms at CBR where I really really really want to stay and the famliy suites. 2 bathrooms and extra space keep calling my name!:rotfl:

It is the international resort changers sign....monorail your way from one resort to the next...:lmao: If you want a copy of it, just right click on it from my signature and copy and paste it into your signature. :thumbsup2

I would do the BWI CL/BCV split...wait, no....that wasn't a choice, silly me, always throwing BC into the ring. Is there a big enough difference between BWI and BWV to warrent a split stay? If not, then BWI CL/OKW. I think OKW is centrally located isn't it? I know they have numerous bus stops. Will that bother you? No walking or Momorail.

So what about.....

A BWI CL/ YC split? :rolleyes1

I could get YC on points, and still have enough left over for my Spring Break trip (next year) at OKW and enough to book DH and myself on a cruise to the Bahamas. :teeth:

Oh well.... C'mon then! Switch to CBR and two rooms! :goodvibes

It sounds like a really good plan to me! But I also like your idea of CR GW and am sort of trying NOT to look too hard at the Deluxe room there.

Did you know, just for the sake of argument, that that particular room has 2 bathrooms? And a King bed in the master? And a sofa bed and another sofa that would be just the right size for another small child to sleep on?

Very very tempting if you ask me.... :upsidedow

The two sofas.

Oh I know...and I think that is the problem. I know too much when it comes to the resorts, what they have, don't have how they are configured. I was better off just being dumb! I can't decide!!!!!We are definite Dining plan ppl even if it wasn't free I would have purchased it so that messes up the whole split stay thing. Disney needs a better system for split stayers than having to buy 2 sets of tix and start all over.

I agree. There should be some way to hook the two ressies together so you just have to pay for one day of tix and your DDP continues on to your next resort. Of course, FD was a lot more tempting when you only had to buy one day tix. There are a lot of AP holders who won't book for FD now since they have to eat the cost of two days tix.

And I have the same problem with resorts. I know a lot, read a lot, and want to stay at all of them. Right now. :headache:

So know I'm going around and around between OKW, YC, and CR. Yikes!

OK Kaff you KNOW what I am going to say....DO IT!!!! BWI CL/YC would be MY choice AND, can you get YC with a side of FD??? :lmao::rotfl2: I did not change my resort yet. I heard that there is a pin out for those staying at POP may/june to upgrade to OKW and SSR. Should I switch to POP and hope for an upgrade and save about $1500!!!! Just my luck they won't have it this year and I'd be stuck at Pop. (Not that I don't like it, I would just rather have WL than Pop BUT OKW maybe????? I didn't care for SSR at all. Wonder if I'd like OKW better  Which brings me to BC...(don't ask me how it brings me to BC, it just does!!! I REALLY want BC.....can't talk my DH into the price difference. :sad2: Next time, I'm just booking...Now questions asked.

I thought I was done with this. I had good deluxe rooms then decided to save money and go with Mod and book extra special tours, then figured that the 40% off might not be around next year so went back to deluxe.

Then decided there was not much difference between a standard and CL room at WL. But then got gun shy when I read about the 7th floor balconies being enclosed and not being able to sit and see anything from the balcony.

A nice disboarder confirmed that this is the case with the balcony. I really thank that person for the help.

So I will be making my usual call for yet another change and hoping there is a room there at the WL still.

But before I change rooms, I would so appreciate a second opinion, anyone else done CL at WL and been disappointed with balcony CL or regretted staying CL at WL?

Never stayed, we do FD so the food would be too much. HOWEVER, I have seen the Lounge, it is nice. I've seen photos of the balcony and didn't like it. I would say consider why you are staying CL. If it is for the food, do it, if it is for the balcony or view.....much cheaper to book the view and request the floor. I don't know what else CL offers so I can't comment on anything else. :thumbsup2

Next year book BC and then figure out how to pay for it. It works for me! :) But then again I'm the one in the family that handles the finances and the bills, so what DH doesn't know won't hurt him, KWIM? :rolleyes1

OKW does look very appealing, that's why I'm having trouble not booking it. I'm thinking though that it makes more sense to book YC for this trip, and OKW for next April. Or maybe it makes more sense to do it the other way around? I've been putting off an OKW stay since I first looked at the WDW website. :upsidedow

But I do want to try out SAB, and since it will be warm in August, that seems like a better time to try it out than in the fickle April weather.

BUT, DS9 weighted in and wants to stay at POP, and DS17 wants to stay at the treehouses. :headache: No one but me wants to stay at BWI CL or at YC.

Anywho, getting back to your problemo, I would stay with WL for your trip! What if you did switch back to POP and then didn't get a pin code? Then you'd regret not keeping the WL ressie, right? Besides, the odds are a lot greater that if you did get a pin, you would have to take SSR since it's a much bigger resort. So stick with WL and FD, and get the bunk beds, and all will be well. For a while. :teeth:

My DH asked me tonight "Why cant you just leave the reservations alone? We will have a great time where we are booked" Because I am convinced their is a better deal to be had!!! We already have the 40% off code at WL but all they have is woods rm with bunkbeds. We would get a waaay better deal if we could get a standard rm. I checked online and they have standard rm avail (which online it has been sold out for weeks) so I called disney ressies and she tells me nope just bunk bed rm available. AAAHHHHH!!!! WTH!!! I even entertained the thought of going to AKL standard rm. (it doesnt do it for me I know im in the minority) I cant stand it lol

You KNOW who has the standard WL room right??? ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you stayed at AKL yet? I LOVE that place. I know what you mean about the better deal to be had. WL with FD is a better deal for us because we are ALL considered adults (even the youngest). The room discount coupled the DDP full price would be less of a deal for us. Hold with what you have until something better comes along...(I'm sure that I am not helping....:scared1:)

So...I'm at it again and we haven't even booked yet! We'll be heading back in January 2011. Hoping to stay 9 nights. Right now I'm leaning toward CBR because of the zero entry pool. (Even though weather can be iffy in January.) Loved the pool at the Poly and DD is not tall enough to stand in one of the regular pools. Then I started thinking about POR, because so many people like it. But then I remember how much fun we had at Pop Century. Of course we'll be there a little longer than usual, so maybe we should think about a split stay. :headache: Of course we can't decide about whether we want to add the dining plan either.

Tarheelgirl hi!! I love how you have CBR? I think that I will start a list in my signature that has all of my changes it would read:

2010 BC? AKL? OKW? WL? :goodvibes
