Resort Change by Disney

I haven’t read all the posts (a lot, but not all). Can anyone who has already been moved tell me if they were good about keeping your group together? We are traveling with my parents and have 2 rooms booked at a value resort in early September. I am okay if they need to move us, but we would need to be moved to the same resort. The reservations are supposed to be linked, but the CM I spoke to Friday was unwilling to even look if they were linked. So, has anyone else with multiple rooms has luck being moved together?

We also have two rooms at a Value resort. It's my dh & our 4 kids. We have not been moved yet as we don't check in until 7/21 but I'm concerned about them not moving us together. I requested connecting rooms but never actually put a 'travel with' on our reservations because you have to call for that and well, we've never had to do that before and always gotten rooms together. Of course, there has never been a situation like this before so lesson learned for me! I did call a week ago or so and they were unable to link our reservations at this time. The CM told me to call back once the reservations were back up for modifications but that hasn't happened. Sounds like that will be Monday - same day they are moving everyone. I'm trying not to worry too much. Our teens are older teens and our oldest dd was in the DCP down there until she was sent home in March. So, if she and her sister need to stay at a different resort, it won't be awful as they know their way around pretty well. It will be convenient though

The NBA could potentially have only some of the buildings at GF. The access to those & possibly the convention center be restricted, protecting the NBA’s bubble. The YC is all 1 building, with a limited number of elevators. There really isn’t any way to maintain the bubble in that situation. And the number of rooms needed for the 6 teams that will be there will pretty much fill the hotel.

The YC will be impacted for the shortest period of time, it holds the lowest seeded teams. If they continue to win, the word is that they will move them to GDT.

July 5th thru 9th reserved RO at POP (AP for me and Park Hopper for my DS). Rescheduled from April 1st (POFQ) which we recheduled for Mother’s Day in May (ASMO) and then rescheduled to July. I’m still sitting on these dates at POP....got an email tonight from Disney entitled “it’s time for magic, info on your upcoming stay”...which confirmed my POP reservation but linked me to a list of open resorts (DVC and FW). No info on where I might be moved to if I keep the reservation. I had zero intention of keeping it until the AP preview news came out stating dates of July 9th and 10th. If I can snag a July 9th preview reservation, and I can push my flight out wicked late....I will be a happy camper! I’m slightly terrified that they’ll just cancel my reservation altogether. Also DS can no longer get time off to accompany me so it’ll just be me. Hoping for some pixie dust!

It makes sense. The teams that are not expected to be around as long are at the GF and yacht, which would otherwise be popular and high $ for normal guest bookings. If you put the teams that you expect to leave early at those places, the resorts can open up to the normal guest bookings sooner. It gets us normies back into yacht and GF faster this way.

I've tried several times over the last 2 weeks or so. I just tried again. Same result. Kidani checked in with no problem. ASsp and AOA would not allow online check in.

I am having the same experience. My Coronado stay checked in first try, no matter what I do with my Pop it’s not letting me.

I’d definitely call tomorrow to get yourself moved for free. I saw a report of someone waiting for Disney to call them and then their reservation got automatically cancelled.

When I called Friday to try and change to park open dates (too much money for the upgrade), and the AP preview dates hadn’t yet been released; the CM I spoke with told me to just stay with POP... seemed like an odd thing to say but since I couldn’t afford the dvc resorts I agreed and left it at that. I’ll call back! Thanks!

I have a booking for Sports for 7/5-7/9 and not received any notification from Disney of any kind that it's not happening. It just sits there in MDE recommending that I start check-in now.

On Saturday, I finally received an email from Disney about my 7/5-7/9 reservation at Sports. It contained information about my resort stay and some health information. Other than the statement "In addition, certain Disney Resort hotels will be closed during your stay," there is no mention that I need to rebook. I feel like I'm being punked. I'm going to be cancelling the reservation because I have another booking at the end of the month, but I've left this one active so far as a test to see what Disney would do and when, if ever, they would notify me. It's awful to think that there are probably other people like me who have not received notification, but who don't pay attention to Disney news, and so believe they a valid booking for two weeks from now.

So this morning when I logged on to see what they have done with these annual pass extensions to my shock my late August reservation Was switched from the Beach Club to the Polynesian. I didn’t even receive an email about this. I’m trying to hang in there Disney but you’re making it very difficult!

Yes. I went through a travel agent and she emailed me about an hour ago, told me we’ve been moved at no additional charge.

i am patiently (not really) waiting for my email for early August! Booked at PORFQ and am so anxious about our hotel situation!

It is the shortest time that a resort will be impacted. It is easier to create "infrastructure" and a bubble at GDT for the longest period of time.

same situation for my reservation I’m August at POFQ. I hesitate to start that process since the resort is not listed as being open at any point soon. Staying in limbo is frustrating. And now we commit to parks tomorrow and we don’t know if there is a place for us to stay.

Are dining reservations going to be open tomorrow as well on the new system? Tomorrow will be my 60 days.
I hope I get our resort sorted out tomorrow as well as park reservations so I can stop stressing over everything.

so am i reading correctly that if we are booked at Coronado for September that will not happen?
Or that Coronado will be able to be booked for OTHER guests for travel dates after October 14???
