Resort Change by Disney

I’m not sure how many people are in your party, but the free dining recovery only required a two day ticket with no hopper. It would have only cost just over $200 per person for tickets.
Surprised to see the recovery free dining only required the above. BB free dining required 4 day PH tickets for all in the party. Our BB trip is late Aug, so I imagine I'll be waiting at least a month for more info on our time frame.

  • If your Client would like to modify to a date on or after July 11, 2020, they may only modify to one of the announced opened resorts, based on availability. Guests will be responsible for any higher rates.
This part makes so much sense, but I know it's going to throw people for a whirl. Disney isn't about to pigeon hole themselves again. Imagine if they let people move between values/moderates/non-dvc deluxe and they're still not open when those dates come. That means that these guests are going to have to be moved AGAIN. Disney is doing a one-and-done.

I expect that as more resort are announced to be open that we'll see people be able to move among their resort categories. I expect POP to be open and all-stars will be moved there; CBR open and other moderates will be moved there etc

Yeah. The FD recovery was a really good deal for AP holders.
I would have definitely taken advantage of it. :)

And?

Where was your original resort and where are they placing you?
Sorry I didn't provide all of that at first! I was so excited that I finally have something scheduled! :P
My original reservation: AKL Jambo Standard July 5-July12, had free dining plan
New Dates: July 14-July 21
New Room: Animal Kingdom Kidani 1 Bedroom Villa
$$: Added cost was $300, but I had the 35% discount applied for loss of free dining plan

They are continuing on as they have been with reservation modifications, just using DVCs and FW. You will have to pay the difference in cost for modifications, moving of dates.
I also had a park hopper which they are not reimbursing at this time as it is not know if that will be allowed yet at the parks

This week-by-week is really making it tough to make plans & arrangements. I really want the list of open hotels (if any).

It’s going to put us about 25 days out from our vacation. That’s too close . I am thinking we are going to cancel and move all our $$ to Universal .

I am praying that after they get these last "few" reservations with a departure date before 7/11 moved that we will hear additional information about resorts. I REALLY want my original resorts to open by 7/18.

I just called for my 7/10 POR reservation. They said they can’t help me yet because my DEPARTURE date must fall within the new dates they are looking at.
I am going to try calling again in a bit.
Thats what I'm confused about. We are 7-15, but will be moving our dates.

My dates are 7/10 thru 7/20. I was just told that you have to be checking out by 7/11 for them to work with you at the moment. We have two rooms at Pop. She asked if I wanted to cancel.

I was trying to keep my dates 7/10-7/14 and at first he put me on hold to talk to the “special team” and then came back after speaking to his manager and said my current reservation isn’t eligible yet.

Just got the email that now reservations from 7/5-7/11 departures can now confirm, modify or cancel. Same rules as before.
Thank you so much for the heads up! We were just able to change our 7/6 - 7/11 reservation to November. We were permitted to book a regular room (not DVC) and we were able to apply our 35% dining recovery offer to our stay.

I'm going to assume that since we are scheduled for 7/7-11 at Ft Wilderness in a cabin that we will not be contacted. Are they only contacting individuals slated to stay at other resorts?

I’m hoping for something like this for my September stay. I’m at ASMu so pretty much anything will be an upgrade. No biggie if not, it will still be the cheapest non-Priceline stay I’ve had in a long while.

A regular room? Is it ok to ask which resort? Just intrigued to finally hear something other than DVC or FW cabins! 😀
We booked a Beach Club Standard View room. We were originally at Caribbean Beach and she offered to rebook this room for us first since there was availability for our dates in November. We decided to upgrade to deluxe though since we were getting the 35% discount. Beach Club is a bucket list resort for me. Just hope SAB is open.
