Resort Availability on DVC.com...when?

Wow - this thread is long - I will post my thoughts on the original post, although please forgive me for not reading through everyone's posts-

I've worked with a few different systems which tried to post information online for all to see - often, this a based on a data warehouse which refreshes on a pre-set basis. (in my case, ours refreshes every night)
So many things can go wrong with that - going through a live person who is working "live" in the reservations system keeps things much simpler and also preserves reservation accuracy.

Just my thoughts after working with a few different online datamart setups -

A thought on "live" systems:
Running the system "live" for us to reserve online would require system changes that Disney may find prohibitive to make, too.
And also open the system to potential hackers.

I wish it were so easy.

I have checked inventory and had 30 studios for a certain week and within three minutes, in the same call, had 0 studios.

I had a member tell me the other day that he is very experienced with our system and proceeded to tell me how to do my job. When I questioned him about his experience with the system, it turns out he has never seen it or used it. And he was dead wrong.

That's fine, then I can see 30 studio's one minute and zero the next. It still can lead to planning and I am fairly sure that doesn't happen every few minutes once inside a few months out at all resorts.
