I booked OKW 2 br villa for a week in July but I am having some "resort anxiety". We have never stayed there before, and for a family of 6 it was a great deal. I just don't know if we'll get enough "Disney feel" there, could some one reassure me that I made the right decision? Our other options were two rooms at WL or AKL...

OMG, it's a wonderful resort!!! We stayed there for the first time in March and we're going back the end of June. You're going to have so much room and it's wonderful to have a clothes washer and dryer in your own villa. I'm assuming that you're paying cash for the villa, rather than using DVC points. If this is the case, you'll have housekeeping every day and they should supply a box of laundry detergent every day.

If you are driving, you'll have the added benefit of being able to park right outside the villa, and it is so nice to not have a long walk after a long day in the parks. But even if you're using Disney busses, the stops are conveniently located. And the resort is gorgeous. I have a ton of pictures of OKW HERE. There are links at the top of the page to a 1-bedroom villa and a studio villa. If you combine them, that is what your 2-bedroom villa will be.

I know you'll love it! :)

We stayed there about 4 years ago- LOVED it!! They were very spacious and a jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom!! We found them to be very clean and loved the decor- we also got Mickey soaps and the kitchen was GREAT for fixing meals- they have everything you need there! 2 rooms at the AKL would just be too cramped- and if you're going with an extra family it's nice to have the living area to sit and chat rather than everyone sitting on beds which can be so uncomfortable! The bus transportation was great- we rarely waited more than 10 minutes and the pools were nice and not crowded. You'll have a great time!

Its been my home resort since 1994 and it is amazing. Very spacious accomodations(you will be spoiled), friendly CM, parking right in front of your building, good transportation to parks via bus and DD via boat. We have been 11 times to OKW in studios, 1 and 2 bdroom villas. The community hall also has movie rentals(there are vcr's in villas), activites for all ages. Each 1 2 or 3 bdroom villa has washer/dryer as well as full kitchen. All the pools are fine with main pool being the biggest, but we like the one at end of Millers road and the one at end of South point rd. The resort is spread out, but I have walked to Hospitality House from the farthest area at South point and it is very pleasant walk. You can also take all the buses internally to reach the area. We were there last for New Year's and have plans to return same time for 2003-04. The layed back atmosphere helps with hustle and bustle of WDW. Have a great time. PS, if you need an elevator, ask for rooms 62,63, 64 as the others are walk ups for 2nd or third floor.

Thanks for all the positive responses!! I am looking forward to a "relaxing" WDW vacation now....

Who knows-- it may actually be fun to be able to sleep in the same bed as my DH this trip, I usually have to sleep with one of my DD's!! <grin>
