Reserving ADR's for 2009 confusion

I got to make our CRT and Chef Mickey's reservations yesterday AM!!! Yea-got them both. However, the young lady helping me gave me some confusing information. I asked her if I needed to wait until the 90 day mark to make the rest of my reservations and she told me "no". She said when the upgrade to the system is completed, I would be able to make my reservations at that point. I asked her how would I know when that was? She said she didn't know. Anyone out there no anything definite? When can I get the rest of my reservations?!

I'm in the same boat. We're going the first and second week of February. I called this morning and got CRT and CM but was told I'll have to wait.

The woman I spoke with said that the date they have been given for the new system is October 24th. She also said that there has been talk that it may be before that and to try the last part of September.

I wish I didn't have to wait that long, but at least we know that everyone else has to wait too so we still have a chance to get what we want.

Unfortunately she's right. Nobody knows for sure. The end of October (24th I believe) is the best rumor that we have so far.

Part of me wonders if they're refraining from announcing an exact date to help them from being slammed so hard that first day.

Another thought I had, to give those calling in on 10/24 some hope....


Let's assume that 100 families check in per day. When the system opens up you won't be competing with 9,000 families for your dates. 9,000 families will be calling in for their reservations - but the same 100 will be looking for your dates (that would have been competing with you anyways)

Just a thought...I hope Disney thinks to do a walking reservation for all the people trying to call for 2-3 months of ADRs. For example, everyone booking for check-ins 1/26-2/1 calls on 10/24 & 10/25, etc. It may be easier on Disney Dining if they decide to do something like that.

I completely agree, and when this change was first rumored that's what the rumor was. When it was officially announced however, they said that they were doing it flat. One day and open the floodgates. Considering that this time period encompasses spring break and Easter - it's going to be ugly for everyone involved.
