hi everyone- I’ve been to Disneyland numerous times but we are “rides” people. This time we would like to watch the fireworks and castle projection. Is there an experience or reserved seating I can book that we don’t have to camp out for? I know the Tomorrowland experience you can’t see the projection.... thank you!

Nope, there’s nothing for fireworks. If you want to be right in front of the castle, people camp out for hours, but if you want to be about halfway down Main Street, 30 minutes or so can get you a decent spot (which is good viewing of Main Street projections and very “immersive,” plus you can see the castle and stuff flying over).

The fireworks are supposed to be great from Main Street because of the projections on the buildings. If you want to see Fantasmic you could do one of their dinner shows that have options for reserved areas and stay for the fireworks there after.

I went last night and was near the Penny Arcade. It was a little far back from the castle, but the projections on Main street were cool to see!

We lined up at the start of the hub like just barely on the hub near the partners statue. The view would’ve been OK, but some man decided to put his child on his shoulders. We then couldn’t see any of the castle except for the top of some spires. It really ruined the show and is one of the biggest disappointments of our trip. As a parent, I am glad that his child got to see. But it was very selfish and sucked for the hundreds of people behind him. This is our last night here and it is not listed as showing on the app today? However I am not willing to wait hours to see the show. We have already seen Fantasmic this trip. I guess we will just have to watch the fireworks on YouTube after we get home.

Sorry this happened to you. If this ever happens to you again, don't hesitate to reach out for a CM pronto. They are willing to help, especially if the incident just happened and they can see what the problem is. We've had this happen before at fireworks and other shows. CMs have been very helpful with approaching the parent in question and asking them to remove the child from their shoulders or to move to the side where they won't block other's view of the show. Most parents aren't aware how much putting their child on their shoulders affects other guests -- this is why we recommend here that parents don't do that, but put the child on their hip instead. If the child's head is pretty much level with the parent's, the child will be able to see fine and not block anyone else's view.

Thanks for the info. I will do that in the future. Thank you!
