Reserved fireworks seating at MK for AAA packages?

There was another thread about this but we never really figured out HOW to gain access to the area next to the Plaza restaurant.

Has anyone been recently and noticed if the sign says AAA all the time? Has anyone with a AAA package managed to sit in the reserved section and how did you get in? What proof do you need and do you have to reserve space ahead of time?

We are on a AAA package in October and we really want the inside story!!

Thanks!

A little bump.

I have been trying to call my AAA agent, but I haven't been able to reach her and she won't know the answer anyway.

So if somebody has a TERRIFIC AAA agent and wouldn't mind making a call I would be grateful! :flower:

I saw this thread a few days ago, and this afternoon when I phoned my AAA agent to make final payment this afternoon I asked her about it.

She had no specific information, but seems to remember that it was a perk given to those AAA members who purchased the Premium package, which included 3 full meals a day and lots of other stuff. She did not think that just any old AAA member could get these passes.

Her suggestion was to check with AAA services there in Disney for any details.

We had inquired about this a while back and were told the reserved area goes with a package that is no longer offered. When we were there it was nearly empty! By the way, no one over at AAA even knew about this, and when I asked, they called around and still couldn't find out about it! It seems crazy to have this great area reserved for so few people! :confused3

Well, several months ago there was a thread from someone asking about it and it turns out this was a perk at Disney LAND.

Fast forward to last week and there was a thread saying that someone just back from Disney WORLD saw a sign on a patio area near the Plaza (not sure if it was Plaza restaurant or Plaza Pavilion) at MK with a sign that said "Reserved for AAA". For whatever reason that poster was under the impression that it was for AAA package holders.

Our package is from AAA, but it is MYW + Dining, not Premium. In my AAA booklet I can't find mention of reserved seating for fireworks on ANY package, Premium or otherwise.

So I am wondering now if it was reserved for some AAA event THAT DAY, or if it is really AAA all the time. That Premium package was a huge jump in price, and it includes so much stuff you would have to stay about a month for it to be worth it! I wonder how many people are buying it? :confused3

During either our May 2004 or October 2004 trip (I can't remember which) we also noticed this viewing area and approached the CM standing guard. She said it was for particular AAA packages and we needed some sort of pass.

Well, I'm a travel agent with AAA (I'd like to think I'm one that "knows" things when it comes to Disney :earsboy: ) and I'm not aware what that viewing area would have been for.
You used to get a voucher for special viewing of fireworks with the Premium packages prios to MYW, but those are no longer.
You can enter the AAA lounge in MK (back by Buzz Lightyear) when you book a AAA package, but I am almost positive for a AAA MYW packge there aren't any special viewing areas for Wishes.
Hope that helps! :flower:

Thanks!

If anyone happens to see that sign would you mind asking just exactly WHO they are saving that space for? :earboy2:
