We're planning on going to WDW next June and our 11 month window has opened up. We own at VWL, but are hoping to book at BCV at 7 months. Is there any reason why we should go ahead and make a ressie at VWL and then try to switch. I assume at 7 months if we can't get BCV, then something will be available somewhere.

You're right, something should be available somewhere at 7 months if BCV isn't available. But it certainly wouldn't hurt to have that back-up ressie at VWL just in case.

I was wondering the same thing, because we need a two bedroom and want to stay at BWV...our 11 month window will be next week so I think we'll book it at WLV and try to change it at 8 mos.

You know what they say about a bird in the hand....Definitely book something NOW and then change it if what you want is available at the 7 month window. Why risk it?

Think of it as insurance. Ask yourself how you would feel if you couldn't get anything at the 7 month window or if you could only get certain resorts like OKW & SSR. I'd reserve now then change over at 7 months if what I wanted was available. If not, I'd do the wait list and keep my home resort rather than taking my chances or taking any resort otherwise.

I have to totally agree with Dean. Reserve now so you have a ressie for sure. At 7 months call and if they ressie you want is availabe you can change over.

Hey now what are you saying? OKW is my home resort--sounds like a slight to me :rotfl:

No slight just that OKW and SSR are larger resorts and the chances of rooms being available at BWV, WLV and BCV are much less likely. OKW is my home resort also and I love it. But to take a chance of staying at one of the smaller resorts at the 7 month window is to risky if you have your heart set on going to WDW.

No slight. I own OKW and BWV and OKW is my favorite overall. But there are realities of how the system works and the overall demand of certain resorts.
