Hi all:

We'll be travelling to AKL on in a little over a month and I wondered about reservations. We plan on eating at Boma and then going up to the Floridian and eating at one of the two signature restaurants up there. When would be a good time to make reservations?

Thanks!!!

Do your research NOW and get your reservation in ASAP.

My fam is going mid-April and the reservationist told me
when I called a couple days ago, that this was a good time
and that is 4 months in advance..

Get your calls in NOW....

Good Luck,

Steve

As soon as possible! With the dining plan TS reservations are more in demand than ever.

Do you need reservations for counter service? And can you take away the counter service stuff or do you have to eat there?

You can't make ADRs for counter service and you are able to take the leftovers with you. A pain, but you can.

You do not need reservations (or advanced dining reservations or ADRs) for counter service. But as the others said, you need to call asap. It's okay to make ADRs even if you're not sure you're going to eat at a restaurant. Only a few of the restaurants have penalties for not showing up. Get one for every restaurant you're even considering. There have been lots of stories of people being turned away from restaurants if they don't have an ADR. It is much easier to cancel one once you arrive then to try to secure one.

None of the counter service restaurants require or take reservations. I hope you are not asking because you found out there's no availability at TS restaurants @ GF, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I haven't called yet, but I plan on going to one of the Grand Floridian restaurants and the Boma. I'm going to call later today for sure though...I'm scared I won't get a reservation!!

Oh ya and is it worth it using 2 table services for a grand floridian restaurant?

Depends what you order...if you use more than $75 worth of food per person, then it's a good idea, if not, it might be better to pay OOP. If you're going to be eating a lot of TS meals, I'd save it for a 1 credit restaurant. If you're not sure you'll be eating TS every day, you might as well splurge the 2 credits on it.

I ate mostly signature restaurants when I was there, so it wasn't the best value in the world to get the Dining Plan. I paid OOP for my dinners. Saved some money that way.
