We made reservations about 4 months back for our upcoming January trip. The only thing is that now we are taking our 12 yr old nephew with us. We called to see if we could change the reservations from 2 to 3 people but they told us everything was full. Should I just show up to the restaurant with 3 and act like nothing is wrong? :) Every time we've been before they always seat us at a 4 person table so I really don't see the problem. Any help/comments are appreciated.

You can try but dont be suprised if they turn you away

To go from one number to a smaller number is easier to accommodate than them what you need them to do

As a party of 2, we've been seated at almost every place at a table for 2. And this is over at least the past 20 trips. If you are going in January over xmas break or MLK weekend, you could have a problem. Generally, though, many of the places will do everything they can to accomodate you.

So, Do we just not eat? lol. I mean, what do they expect us to do?

Well, you made a reservation for 2. They have tables made for 2. You now have 3. If they are booked for all the tables that can seat 3, do you expect them to just bump someone and tell them sorry? If you would've had 3 and went to 4 you wouldnt have had a problem, as a 3 person party will get set at a 4 top table. That being said, I would still show up and explain to them what happened. Hopefully they will be able to help you at the resturaunt. THe reservation center will tell you they are full though. Whatever you do, dont cancel if you cant get a 3 top.

There are thousands of people who go to WDW never knowing that they should have made ADR's months in advance. What do they do? Eat at the less popular places, eat at odd times, eat counter service. There are plenty of places to eat.

Also, people cancel all of the time. Keep calling, keep trying.

I understand your frustration, but they may nor may not accomodate your now larger party. If it is during peak season,or a very popular restaurant , peak dining hour, they may very well tell you "No".I have seen this happen during free dining. If it a slower time, less popular place you may luck out.You may also luck out if there were a lot of no shows or last minute cancellations.honestly, I can not believe how bad the dining system has gotten in the last 5 yrs or so.i still make my adrs 180 days in advance, but when I get to the restaurant I am seeing more and more frustrated ticked off people with no ressies ( they didn't know they needed to make them) or tons of no shows which means either people are making tons of dups, or they are just not caring enough to cancel what they won't use.I think they need to start taking a credit card guarantee for places.
