Reservations question

I know that within 7 days the waitlist no longer exists and anyone can pick up a cancellation at this time. My question is when do the cancellations hit the database? Immediatly and the next person to call is the lucky one. or does the database update overnight and you need to call first thing in the morning to get a cancellation.

Cancellations happen in real time. Waitlists get filled first, anything left over is available to callers.

Not sure if this is still the case - But I think that you can request to be left on the waitlist until the day before - I know it was like that in the past and you would just get a call to confirm. Maybe check with member services. Best of luck - we have always had really good luck with DVC's waitlist!!!
