Reservations needed for Storytellers Cafe dinner?

I currently have a reservation booked for dinner at Storytellers Cafe Friday night. It was really just a placeholder/backup in case we couldn't get into Trader Sam's. I'm thinking now maybe a res isn't necessary, and I should go ahead and cancel it so we can avoid the late cancellation fee in the event we do get into Trader Sam's for dinner. And if Trader Sam's is mobbed, hopefully we could get into Storytellers with no/little wait even without a res? Anyone have any opinions on how critical a reservation is for Storytellers on a Friday night? TIA!

We were there for a 5pm reservation on Saturday and there were tons of empty tables. I have NO idea if that is common or not.

We had a 7:05 reservation on Saturday the 15th and still waited around 15-20 minutes for a table. People doing walk up were being told the wait was 45 minutes to an hour.

I was there Sunday at 5pm and it was packed and there were probably 20 people waiting inside and another 20 outside and a line to get to the podium. It was raining on Sunday, which limits a lot of outdoor seating options.
