Reservations for Ten???

Our advanced dining reservation date is January 30th so I'm gathering as much information as I can.

We are a family of ten (2 adults; 2 adults/2 children; 2 adults/2children) all staying at Port Orleans. I made the reservations and there are three separate confirmation numbers. We are all on the Dining Plus Plan.

My question is: Should we make dining reservations for the 10 of us? Using only one confirmation number? Do we have to link the confirmation numbers? Or is it better to split the reservations for 6/4 or 5/5? Any suggestions concerning availability for 10? gratuities?

Yes, if you all want to eat your meals together.

No, that is not necessary.

Only if there is no availability for 10.

Any suggestions concerning availability for 10? gratuities?

Gratuity discussion is limited to the Tipping Information Thread on the main board. But I will note here that any party of six or more is subject to an automatic tip of 18%. If you split the parties and then ask to be seated near each other they'll consider you one party.

The last time we went we were a party of 10. We had no problems getting our reservations. Places like Tusker House, Via Napoli, 50s Prime Tme and Biergarten we ate at one table. Otherwise we ate next to each other. Kids at one table adults at the other. It always worked out.

The only problem with not linking it is if you eat at a restaurant that needs to be paid first. You won't be able to use everyone's dining plan. I would call and ask.
