Reservations for 7?

I made reservations for our family of 7 at Saana for Nov. I got an email confirmation saying that our party may be seated at two tables?!? Is this a common occurance with a party of 7 (which is really not that large). Has anyone with a "larger" group been seated at two different tables when they got to the restaurant or where they able to move tables together? (FYI - first time posting new thread - lurker here).

I got that in my confirmations for seven in two of my 8 reservations for 7 people. One was Cindrella's and the other was Norway. So I would say it is based on how certain restaurants are set up.

This is quite common.

We used to get the same spiel when making reservation for Christmas Eve for my family and Bob's.

Never once were we sat at separate tables...and that was Christmas Eve in Le Cellier.

The restaurants usually go above and beyond to seat your party together.

That being said....it is a possibility depending on circumstances.

Just be polite and patient and I think you'll be fine.

I noticed this too. I recently made a reservation for 5 @ Tokyo Dining & Whispering Canyon... it had the same message at the bottom of the reservation. Must depend on what restaurant you are booking. I have reservations at several other places and the message only appears on these two. Hum...

That is a standard message I get when making online reservations for big groups. It's never happened though. I would not be concerned.

thanks for the responses - I feel better. this is my first trip with over 6 people (this never happened before with 6 - it is only with my magic "7").

I have traveled 3 times with a party of 10 and we've always been told that over the phone or via online, but once checked into the restaurant it's never happened. They always seat us together. I'm sure you'll be fine - have a great trip!

We had a group of eleven last year and also did not have a problem. The only place where I've dined where this might be an issue is someplace like Sci-Fi dinner theater. The cars will only fit so many people, so in this case they may have to separate the groups. Otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem.

I hope not, anyway. We have 7 coming in December and I hope I'm not jinxing myself!

It is quite common for larger groups.

But I just got this message when making a reservation for a table for 3 (yes, THREE)
I am confident we will be seated together though...
