Reservations at CRT?

I was wondering if it is usually really hard to get reservations at CRT? I called couple of weeks ago and got reservations at CRT for dinner next week for my DD's birthday. It's a little early for dinner, 4:15, but that was OK with me. Did I just really luck out or is it usually only hard to get reservations only for breakfast or lunch? Also, what characters are there at dinner? Is it only the fairy godmother or do any of the princesses show up?

I was able to switch from dinner to lunch (with several times available) a month and a half out. I think the credit card hold and prepayment requirement for those who aren't on DDP has mae this ADR easier to get.

Dinner is easier to get than lunch, and lunch is easier to get than breakfast.

I think dinner is the easiest to get because Cinderella does not come around to the tables. You'll have your picture taken with her downstairs, but only the fairy godmother is present in the dining room at dinner.

Just a minor clarification, Cinderella doesn't actually visit the tables, it will be four others (seems Belle, Snow White, Jasmine and Aurora are pretty common)

I was planning on calling tomorrow, 180 days out, for our dinner. Does CRT accept the Disney Dining Experience - DDE? How does that work with the prepayment?

thanks folks.

Oh and what time can I call to make the ressies?

They charge you the discounted rate, but you have to show up with DDE card in hand when you arrive.

Dinner is fairly easy to get compared to lunch and especially breakfast but even dinner books up fast. We had originally planned to go on our 1st WDW vacation this July but we bumped it up to May and all I could get was a dinnertime of 9:50 at night so I would say that dinnertime books up too. However, this ADR was just way too late for us, so I cancelled. I ended up calling the day before we were leaving for our trip and was able to get the CRT breakfast because someone had cancelled out last minute-LUCKY 4 US :) :) I was sooooooooooooo thrilled! It was an awesome Breakfast/Experience. Would highly recommend the breakfast:thumbsup2 The other reason I didn't like the dinner was because you don't get any of the princesses, only the fairy godmother and the mice. I prefer the princess interaction and quite frankly preferred the breakfast menu over the lunch or dinner. People cancel all the time so don't give up if you choose to do something with breakfast or lunch instead of dinner. GOODLUCK AND HAVE FUN :)
