Not sure where to post this, but as a DVC member...here goes.
With my DD heading off on a whirlwind trip to Tampa and then a one day power trip to magic kingdom, I booked her into Pop for one night so she would not have to drive back to Tampa at 1 am. I booked it through CRO and paid for it myself with the acknowledgements coming to me. I put her name in as the name of the guest but that was it. This was to be a surprise gift to her from my DW and I.
Three days later, my DD calls me up and says, "Dad, did you book me a room at Pop ?"
She had received a notification from Disney about her upcoming reservation at Pop with the usual welcoming stuff.
As long time DVC members, her info was in the disney system so I was not surprised so much that Disney had her info even though I did not provide it to them, but more that Disney would send her the reservation information without asking me if I wanted her to receive this information. I booked the reservation, I paid for it, I provided my email info and yet they contacted her without my permission.
In our case it provided a great talking point and much laughter, but did Disney cross the line contacting her directly ?
