Reservation Grace Period?

How long does a dining reservation give for a grace period? I was able to snag a Sci Fi reservation for a Saturday at 2:05pm in May, however I would be park hopping over as HS is already full. If I get my family at the turnstiles for 2pm, how long do you think it would take us to get to Sci Fi? Would they allow us to be 5-10 mins late? I’m hoping to snag a later time so I don’t have to worry about any of this, but so far no luck.

Usually they will give you 10 minutes grace I think, but I don't know how things are since covid. Have you looked at switching your park reservation? They opened a bunch more today, so you may be able to reserve HS now.

There is no published "grace period." Many people report that they've still been seated after arriving up to 15 minutes late, but there are no guarantees.

For SciFi I wouldn’t worry about 5-10 minutes late. There’s always a wait to be seated from my experience.

They prefer you check in online. I’d do that while walking over.

Maybe call them when you are at the gate and let them know you might be a few minutes late. I was a hostess at one of the BW restaurants and if anyone called we would hold their reservation a little longer. We really appreciated the calls
