Reservation at CRT - impossible? -- Update: Or not! We got it!!

Since we planned our trip on very short notice, I've been struggling to pick up some ADRs. Through careful and slightly rabied stalking on the app, I managed to snag a Crystal Palace dinner, a BOG breakfast, an Akershus lunch and a 1900 Park Fare dinner. Tusker House seems do-able as well.

However, I'm starting to think that CRT is completely out of my reach. For one thing, it's so late in the game; plus I get the impression that I'd have to call in for CRT reservations. I'm not American, so calling in is an issue due to rather drastic overseas call charges. I just wouldn't be able to constantly check in.

Do CRT reservations ever pop up on the app at all? Would I have any shot at a walk-in availability for 2 people?

I know it's a really tall order but if there's any possibility of dining there at all, I'd want to give it a shot. I'm just not very sure how to proceed with my dogged attempts. Dining at the castle would really make our honeymoon complete. However, I'd also like to know if the odds are near zero so that I can prepare myself and alter my hopes accordingly.

Nothing's impossible. Be persistent calling and even closer like a week from travel or even while you're there. People have to cancel within 24 hr (or by midnight the night before). Not that many would like to miss an opportunity to dine in the castle but stuff happens.

Ah, I expected that. I'll probably have to do the bulk of the calling from my hotel room when I actually arrive in Orlando then. I guess at least with Akershus, we'd kinda sorta get to dine with princesses in a castle. *tries to comfort a breaking heart*

I wanted to share, that I'm planning to go to Disneyworld for my honeymoon in a few days. In fact, I'm going to CRT on Sunday. I was able to snag a 6:45 reservation today and cancel my 4:15 reservation, just because it's a better time. So I'd like to offer hope that it IS possible!!

Ah right. I thought as much. How would I use the computer though? Is it similar to the Fantasmic dinner packages? So far, the only thing I got from the site was that I'd have to call the number given.

I would start checking again around November 23. Don't worry about it now, you'll be surprised, especially since I've read that that's low season, that you'll be going to the parks. I couldn't believe I'd have dining time options this late in the game, but I do, and I'm so excited. Just enjoy planning now, and I'm almost positive you'll be able to find a CRT reservation before your honeymoon!

Honestly, I'd take any day and any meal time at this point. Although Dec 5 will be trickier because we'd be having our honeymoon shoot around 3 to 5pm.

Thanks for pointing that out! It nearly broke my heart, but we didn't plan on going for the party. To buy the special events tickets would make the meal too expensive.

It's free and you can enter the restaurant and dates you're looking for and it will contact you whenever something that matches comes available. I am going the same time with a party of 6 and I used the reservation finder for CRT... it has notified me 5 different times of openings. We found just what we're looking for! Sign up!

I actually did, but I somehow never received a notification from it - not even for this empty slot that I got! I actually missed a couple of dinner ones (deliberately, because they were during MVMCP) and a breakfast one (which I hissed about until I got my lunch one seconds later).

That's an awesome tip! I got mine by using the browser on my phone. I didn't know about those not being bookable in the app, thank goodness I asked!

Thank you!! I'm keeping it from my fiance for now and pretending to be sad. He's distraught that I'm upset so it's going to be a surprise when I herd him into the castle. I'm a nasty, crafty almost-wife. (Well, that's what he gets for leaving the trip planning entirely to me!)
