We made this for Crystal Palace and aren’t sure we are staying for the party. Will we be allowed to eat there, or what time do we have to leave if we decide not to party?

I'm 90% sure you'll be okay. Once you finish dinner, you'll most likely be escorted out of the park if you don't have a party ticket.

I just saw it says on our reservation: “Mickeys Christmas Party” under the restaurant name so now I’m not so sure!

My understanding is that non-party guests must reserve dining before 6. After 6 is reserved for party guests only. I suggest calling to confirm but that's how I understand it.

Reservations for Crystal Palace during party nights are not available to non-party ticket holders past 5:55pm. You cannot even make a reservation at CP past that time without going to the special MVMCP reservations link on MDE.

Would it let me reserve if I didn’t have a party ticket on my account?

Yes. The ADR system does not access your tickets.

You will not be allowed eat there without a party ticket at your current ADR time. See my post above.

For a 6:05 reservation at The Crystal Palace on a party night you must have tickets to the party. Without them you will not be allowed to dine. When you look at The Crystal Palace dining reservation page, the restaurant closes at 5:55 PM on party nights for those without party tickets. After that, you have to book through the MVMCP Table Dining page for reservations starting at 6 PM and it states on the front page that party tickets are required.

You can make the reservation without party tickets because some will book dinner before purchasing party tickets.

But you must go through the special reservation page to MAKE the reservation, right?

@Dakota731 did you somehow stumble into the MVMCP reservation page?

I just booked on the regular dining reservation page. I didn’t go to a special site.

It's not a special site. It's just a different page in the dining reservation area. You somehow picked a reservation that is only available to those attending the party. You will need to look for an earlier reservation if you want to eat there.

There is so much conflicting information about this. Even on the Disboards official MVMCP thread it states, "On nights where the Magic Kingdom is hosting MVMCP, the park will close at 6pm to day guests. The party will begin as normal at 7pm, but only guests with tickets to the party will be able to ride attractions after 6pm. Day guests will be able to shop and dine until 7pm." So . . . who knows.

OP, I would take a look at your reservation confirmation. If it states you need to have a MVMCP ticket or says MVMCP anywhere on the confirmation, I would start looking for an earlier time just to be safe.

We are already in the park for our scheduled MK day if that matters, so we wouldn’t even be asked to leave yet - this is our first Christmas trip so it’s very confusing!

If the park hours state the park closes at 6 they will start gently shooing you to exit.

If your reservation states XMas Party, chances are you need a XMas Party ticket to stay and eat the meal IMO.

It doesn't matter. You need a party ticket.
