I’m looking at a small contract at Aulani- same UY as the direct contract I have. If I buy it… will it combine with my current contract as one “pool” of points? Or will I have to book day 6 nights from the original contract and one from the new one and link them? I have subsidized dues and the new contract doesn’t, but I dont think that matters as far as booking/combining?

If they’re from the same resort same UY they’ll pool as long as you extremely carefully make sure the names etc on the contracts are EXACTLY the same.

The only exception will be the resale can not be used for RIV and any future resorts. Only your direct points can.

Make sure you take the initiative to give the resale broker the information about your current contract, including exactly how the names appear on it.

I was annoyed when I was purchasing and the resale broker had not asked me for this information. I had to realize that they had not asked, and provide it to them anyway.

Someone else posted here that they were annoyed when the resale broker did ask them for this information. (They thought it showed how important that particular contract might be to them, which might be a sign that the seller could get more money from them.)

So I realize that asking for the info is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" issue from the point of view of the resale broker. But as the buyer, you want to make sure they have the info (even if you choose not to give it to them until after your offer has been accepted.)

For all the Orlando resorts, all that information could be gathered by the broker surreptitiously with a 2-minute search on the Orange County Comptroller's web page (with free pdf downloads), so I think that's a red herring. Beaufort County, SC and Orange County, CA also have online search engines with free or di minimis fees for printing out deeds (I think in the OC it's $1.00 per page and a broker can set up an account with them), so I think holding back information from the broker makes no sense.

I just did 2 contracts and I'm pretty sure the brokers asked for the info after the offer was excepted.
And on the second one I said I'm in process and they said when i get my member number to update them

To add, I have always sent MA an email, once we closed, with the new contract info and my current info, just as a triple check, even though I wrote it all over the documents!
