Just wondering if anyone can give me some information on reales vs. buying direct from Disney? I am interested in trying to purchase200 points at BCV...does anyone know how much the points are currently selling for from Disney? I know the dollar amount per point from resale is usually lower, but how much do closing costs add to the total point costs?
Thanks for your help!!!

Let me see if I can at least point you in the right direction.

You can still purchase BCV contracts directly from Disney @ $84/pt but only if they have enough points on hand for sale to the general public.
BCV is "sold out" so unless Disney buys back the points thru ROFR, loan defaults, etc., there simply isn't enough points to go around these days.
However, I have read several people on this board who purchased BVC contracts directly from Disney in recent months. But in general, most people seem to opt for resale if they want to purchase BCV, BWV, VWL or OKW. On the resale market, you can expect to pay anywhere from $68/pt to about $73/pt depending on points availability. As far as closing cost goes, for 200 pts, you are probably looking at $500.00.

Thanks for the info TAMU91...I will keep checking the resales and call the companies...I did notice a big jump in point prices in the past two weeks...some resales at BCV are hitting the 80/point mark and these contracts don't seem to offer any points until the next use year...so I will keep looking for a bit and also call and see what Disney has to offer for points, as well.

Remember, that's just an asking price. I got my loaded BCV resale for a full $8/point less than what was listed on the website.

Remember everything is negotiable during resale. On my resale purchase, the seller had the contract listed at $72 or $73 dollars and we settled on $68/pt plus we paid the closing cost and full maintenance dues for 2004 since we had all the points intact plus points banked from previous year.
Offer what you think the contract is worth and your agent should be able to tell whether he/she thinks the contract will pass ROFR.
