Buying resale direct seems to be priced High? Is there "wiggle room"? Talking BCV, disney right now is asking $115pt! The secoundary market, i.e... timesharestore you see a trend in cost of about $85. Personally I dont care about the new rules going into effect, I will only use my points for the main resorts. Has anyone every went with DVC for add-ons or direct resale and been able to get a better price then quoted?

Is there "wiggle room"?

None whatsoever. Nada. Nil. Zip. Zero. Squato.
Any questions? :lmao:

If you don't care about the point restrictions, absolutely you should buy on the resale market.

You are not actually buying "resale" from Disney -- it gets back points through foreclosures and then puts them in the mix again and sells them "new." There is no price negotiation with Disney -- you pay whatever it is charging subject to any announced discounts it may be offering at the time and it seldom offers any discounts for resorts previously sold out.

I guess it was a pretty dumb question, but thanks for your reply!

Not a dumb question unless you mean in the sense that knowing Disney and its money mentality one could never really think of it as actually giving you a monetary break on something. When we originally purchased many years ago, I made every argument I could for a price discount and tried to play hard to get. Mantra did not vary: no price negotiation.

DVC's "here is our price, take it or leave it" no-haggle pricing was one of the things we actually liked about their sales approach vs. other timeshare sales we had been exposed to. They know they have a popular product so the high pressure sales tactics weren't needed, at least not in the past. Let us hope it stays that way.

We bought through the resale market using Time Share Store and were VERY pleased with the experience. Plus we saved about $40 per point as well. Good luck with your decision and purchases!
